IGN UK rates Overlord; Verdict: Impressive

IGN UK got their hands on the retail build of Overlord, and have given the game its rounds and came back with a nice review, scoring an 8.1 . Those who liked the demo will be happy to hear that the cool experiences had in that initial level continue on through the game, with capabilities of having 50 minions on screen with no slow down. Their only gripes, gameplay wise, was that it appears to require backtracking in order to summon particular minions for their specialties later on in a given level. They also felt the multiplayer felt "tacked-on" to the over all experience. So, if you want an advance look at what's coming your way later this month, click the "Read" link.

Overlord demo rules Marketplace

After a bunch of demos hit Marketplace over the last three days (some more important than others), new ones still keep showing up. Today's offering so far is Overlord, which recently had a few videos pop up on the intertubes, and follows through on our plea. You may want to watch those before committing the 891.78 MB of space for the content, although some of you may already be convinced. So, are you enjoying this influx of interactive content, or do you not have the time to play these demos anyway?

Video: DIRT trailer drops jaws [update 1]

Gametrailers has the first trailer (also in HD) of Colin McRae: DIRT up and it is truly breathtaking. It starts with a lone rally car navigating turns around a cliff edge, then moves to some buggy rally, complete with well, dirt. Plumes of dust and debris trail all the tires, then we come back to another rally car negotiating some rain-slicked trails when ... well, you're just going to have to watch it yourself. The score during the trailer is really moving and we're totally psyched to get our hands on this come June. What'd you think of the trailer?

[Thanks, DjDATZ]

Update: Major Nelson also gave word that the gameplay trailer is available on Marketplace

New filthy shots of Colin McRae DIRT

Neural over at MondoXbox got his hands on some Colin McRae: DIRT screens, and they're looking pretty as ever. The tracks you'll be racing on certainly don't look clean but everything does look crisp. The five new shots feature a couple with rally cars, another pair with off road trucks, and a loan shot of some buggies going at it. It's good to see these varied aspects of rally racing making it into the game, and hopefully will spice up the gameplay come June. What's your favorite type of rally racing?

Cleaned off DIRT to reveal Colin McRae Box Art

While we haven't seen new screens in a while for Colin McRae: DIRT, we do have box art, or the "Hake Jacket" as babelfish fumbles on the french translation over at Xboxygen. In any case, it definitely lives up to its namesake, with plumes of dirt trailing the Toyota in the shot. It kind of reminds us of a reversed angle of the Burnout Revenge cover art. Then again, we've been sort of hit and miss with the whole comparing to Burnout thing. At least we're not saying the gameplay will be similar. Are you looking forward to playing this at the tail end of June? Super high resolution version available by clicking the box art that is available after the break.

Jericho screens to give you nightmares

Just in time for Halloween, Planet Xbox 360 has a few new shots of Clive Barker's Jericho. A squad-based horror-themed FPS developed by Codemasters, Jericho offers players "an overload of sensory horror shock." Looking at these shots of bloody, grisly, congealed, nasty monsters, we'd be hard-pressed to disagree. The game focuses on a special squad -- named "Jericho Team," of course -- that serves the government in regulating paranormal threats. Boy, that sounds familiar. An interesting twist is that each squad member has a different arcane specialty (clairvoyance, alchemy, etc.) We hope one of them is a firestarter. We don't know much more about the game at this point, but at least the screens look nice. Any Clive Barker fans out there hoping Jericho will keep them up at night?
