According to earlier reports, Brandon told his parents he would run away if his system was not returned and, in an effort to "call his bluff," his father helped the teen pack his belongings. Brandon's parents now fear that he has been "lured by gamers" through the Xbox Live gaming service, "It could be organized crime or someone involved in Internet gambling. Pedophiles can stalk kids through these games," Brandon's father told The Star.
While it's easy to argue how Xbox Live is being misrepresented in this situation the fact remains that Brandon, who purchased Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare -- an M Rated title intended for gamers 17 and above -- with his own Christmas money, is still missing and his family is completely distraught. We hope for his safe return home.

you know it's parents like this couple are the reason we have shows like dr phil it blows me away to think that since he ran away the father thinks oh there's organized crime influenced on xbox live are you kidding me any 15 yr old kid that is so obsessed over a game that he runs away is a lost cause anyways ,you know millions die every year in cars but do we blame chevy or ford for their influence to drive NO because it just sounds stupid to ,the people quick to blame an online game service that millions use are the ones at fault for not watching over their child and setting a little discipline

and I'm sorry but why should I be sympathetic for couple that had their kid run away over a video game when peoples children die everyday from horrible diseases and shootings but yah I should be sympathetic for these two after they pushed their kid away and then blamed an online community I'm sorry I'm not lashing out just stating the obvious

Moments like these where, unfortunately, I have no sympathy for anybody involved. Shame on the kid, who it the same age as me by the way, to actually run away from the people who take care of you and everything.
And shame on the parents that blame Xbox Live. It seems like they don't really talk to him that much. No matter how fun Xbox Live is, I always make time to hang out with friends and family before it, although sometimes I do play Xbox while I hang out with friends. Why? Because my parents have raised me very well.
This is just like the story a couple months ago about a 12 year old boy dying because he stuck his head in 6 inch deep sand and died because he was trying to copy Naruto. Of course the parents blamed the T.V. show. -_-

I don't feel bad at all for the parents one bit. They deserve what they are feeling now, screw them. The kid is one suffering. Kid could easily do worse with out them, but in the same regard he do just as well with out them too. Life is rough and harsh, though in America we make it easier for most. I am sure the kid will either do drugs, party and die, or be a stronger person and evolve at rate much higher than he would of been with his parents. Just hope he is as the tenacity for life as he does for CoD4. Good luck Brandon.
