Let's just put this out there: Age of Booty is really, really fun. We know this because the trial version (the trial version) allows you to try online multiplayer for two days. Why it's taken nearly three years for an Xbox Live Arcade game to offer online play in the trial version, we have no idea. We just hope it's the beginning of a beautiful trend. Oh, Crazy Mouse came out this week too. That's all you really need to know about that one. Check out the latest episode of XBLA in Brief above.

I've started downloading Age of Booty based entirely on the XBLA in brief. I was on the fence about this one, but after seeing it in action and hearing the concepts behind it, it has peaked my interest. (Still wish it was called Plunder though...)
I thought Crazy Mouse had some promise... some screens of it look fun. I think it could have been a lot more enjoyable, IF the mouse moved faster. He's just way, way, way too slow.
Did Crazy Mouse freeze up the 360 for anyone else who dared to give it a try for more than a few minutes? I really hope it was just buggy code and not the start of yet another machine's death; this one's less than a month old. :(
Richard is correct when he says that more games need to have a trial period for the online multiplayer like Age of Booty. Very fun game playing with a group of friends, either competitively or co-op.
I'd also like to add that this is another game where you can play online and local multiplayer combined (ala Castle Crashers and Rock Band). With two people on one console, it splits the screen vertically. It feels a little cramped at first, with the only real drawback being the need to scroll around more to check up on your cities. It is a nice feature if your household has invested in more than one gold account.
Hey - You guys are wrong... There have been other games with online modes in the demo on XBL. Waay back when there was Prey and Battlestations Midway...

Hey thanks Richard for doing another X3F TV, I remember how long you said it took (Podcast) so props for doing another one. =D
By the way, this episode convinced me to go download the trail of Age of Booty... What is the world coming to?

Oh ya, and interesting music at the beginning of the episode. I also noticed that "dock" sound effect in AoB was totally ripped from Age of Empire.

Actually that's a stock sound - it probably shows up in a bunch of games.

Yeah my 360 froze in the middle of level 2. But the game sucked so it just ended the sucking early, I suppose.

Age of booty is really a fun game. Plus it gives you an excuse to talk like a pirate (as if you needed one).
ARRRRR! IT BE THE AGE OF BOOTY!
