The original assumption was that this would be a downloadable expansion to Halo 3.
So does this mean that the 500 GS from the Mythic maps not related to Halo 3 Recon?

Mythic Maps: DLC maps for Halo 3. includes extra achievements.
Halo 3 Recon: New game set in the Halo Universe. adds possibly new maps/alternate Recon only multiplayer modes(not sure on that one tbh.)

I'm pretty sure they claimed it to be so, but it'll still be available at retail. If it wasn't an expansion they would've probably would not have linked the title to Halo 3.

FPS is fine, just add a lean around corner mechanic. Sure 3rd person's nice, but I prefer to be on the stage, rather than observe from the balcony.

This is not the "rumored Darker, more tacticul Gears/Ghost Recon Halo". What you are referring to is Peter Jackson's Halo Project. Its Halo 3, so it will not be 3P either, you are also referring to Peter Jackson's Halo Project. Thank god cause I prefer 1P.
