News coming out of the Tokyo Game Show is Microsoft's announcement of the once rumored Xbox 360 holiday bundles that'll be releasing to retail this month. And note that all 360 console SKUs come with at least one free game.
The $199 Xbox 360 Arcade holiday bundle comes with SEGA Superstars Tennis and both the $299 Xbox 360 Pro and $399 Xbox 360 Elite consoles come bundled with LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda this holiday season. Also, after sniffing through press materials, we spotted holiday box stickers and they mention a free Netflix trial. You know, because Netflix is doing that whole 360 streaming thing.

Is the netflix thing coming with the NBX, it seemed like this was going to be delayed. I hope it launches with it.

Dammit, why can't they give more "mature" (ie better) games with the Elite?

totally. with a PS2-ish pricing and last gen PS2 exclusive franchises hopping on board, it's not far fetched to say it is this gen's PS2.

I would argue that the Wii is in a new category and can't compare to the PS2 as directley as the Xbox360 can. A huge install base with lackluster 3rd party sales does not a PS2 comparison make. Not mention how many Wii's are just Wii Sports machines only.
The PS2 had huge 3rd party sales and so does the Xbox 360. It's just that the install base is not there, yet....

Does anyone know whether the Netfix streaming will require a HDD?
I imagine it would.

The Roku Netflix Player doesn't have a hard drive and all it does it stream netflix, so i don't think that 360 would require one:

Will netflix be on the USA side or both? Right now it is US only, so will this free trial allow me to use netflix?

I wonder how the free netflix trial is any different than going to their website (netflix) and getting the standard netflix free trial. Seems like something more to try and lure you in that really is nothing special to buying a new holiday bundle xbox, but I could be wrong.

I just got my gold messenger bundle in the mail and it too advertises a free netflix trial, and just says to go to www.xbox.com/netflixretail and that's it, no subscription card or anything, so that is in fact just another advertisement anybody is eligible for.

I don't know why people wouldn't want to know about a chance to win an Xbox 360.

I wonder if these new bundles will all contain the new Jasper motherboards? I've been waiting to buy a 360 until I can indentify one by it's packaging
