During an interview with TVG, Mr. Epic himself, Cliff Bleszinski revealed that they have absolutely no plans to release Gears of War 2 to the PC due, in part, to the fact that the PC market has been dealing with piracy issues.
"Here's the problem right now; the person who is savvy enough to want to have a good PC to upgrade their video card, is a person who is savvy enough to know bit torrent to know all the elements so they can pirate software," explained Bleszinski, "it makes sense for us to focus on Xbox 360 for a number of reasons." And when bluntly asked whether Gears 2 would ever see a PC release, Cliff answered with a simple "no". When pressed further if that was a definite decision, Bleszinski stuck to his answer reiterating that Gears 2 would not see a PC release.

Appologies, I read that incorrectly.
Still, I'd like to see some figures.

Just for record I don't have a modded 360. I like Huey, bootleg only on the PC. I do plan on modding a Wii one day....
Anyhow for numbers. Right now on the torrent site I use. There are 44 people sharing Mass Effect for PC, and 53 sharing it for 360.
Lego Batman PC has 85, xbox 360 has 69. Thats only a small difference on each.
The thing is people do have a modded console. They don't just get the games they want like PC gamers. They get every game.....

At the end of the day, the work required to mod a 360 and go through all of that is far greater. I'm willing to bet at least 10 times the number of people who visit this site have pirated a PC game than have pirated a 360 game... solely because on a PC you generally don't have to do much beyond download it.

Whatever, ppl that complain about DRM limit their gaming experience or piracy policy being unfair is the one that most likely to either pirate the game or not buying the game anyway to begin with. It is the same thing why people in Amazon.com putting bad review for Spore just because of its DRM policy. Why? Because they want to rip it off anyway. The truth is, the ppl that complain about DRM policy of Spore are prob the ones that pirated the game anyway.
I don't see anything wrong of the company trying to protect their property even though sometimes I hate the fact that it goes way too strict. But in the end I cannot see the reason why people have to be snobbish, and put down the game or even insulting the maker of the game.

"Those same savvy people that can install a video cards and use bit torrent to download PC games, are the same people people that can install a mod chip, and use bit torrent to download Xbox 360 games.....
Wow.....Idiot."
You could not possibly be missing the point more.
The point is that to build a gaming rig, you typically have to be a pretty savvy person. Most savvy people are capable of (and willing to) downloading a game on BT on copying over the crack for it.
On the other hand, you absolutely DO NOT have to be a savvy consumer to go out and buy an Xbox 360 at your neighborhood Walmart or Best Buy.
If you think the percentage of 360 owners that pirate games is anywhere CLOSE to the percentage of people with nice gaming rigs that pirate games, you're certifiably insane.

Those same "savvy people" know enough to never go online with copied xbox games because they'll get banned. Modded xbox firmware is still a go, for all your homebrew and hardware upgrades. I think M$ learned alot from the modding community last gen. M$ totally lifted some of the best ideas that "xbox media center" (which is a 100% homebrew and open source developed by modders and hackers) had to offer. M$ knows now that modders are cool and contribute to the community. It is very easy for them to check the FW (firmware) version of certain chips, but they don't ban theses modders. They only ban the pirates who have a modded xbox who play copied games online. For this reason alone Gears2 is a safe bet $$$ on the 360 because multi-player online is where it's at for this franchise.

I plan to buy my first 360 soon to solve problems like this, I am a long-time PC gamer who buys all his games but is getting POed with no-PC versions of big titles.
Every single one of my friends who has an Xbox 360 has mod-ed it firmware with a download they've burnt to disc -- not really that hard is it?
Once they've done this (which is straight after getting it out the box) they have never purchased a single game, ever, not one of them! 0 game sales.
But they have every title available which they download from the internet, and even use white DVD-ROMs so they can print the artwork on the disc.
Not only do they not pay for any games, but they also get them before they are available at retail.
Piracy isn't limited to PC, it is rampant on Xbox 360 too.

Can we please start calling him Cliffy B or whatever it was? His real name is damned annoying. Cliffy B was immature but at least readable.

No, he got mad about it. He wants to sound more professional. Apparently posing for pictures like you're on a cover of a teen magazine is ok though and totally professional.

Yes, I know he got mad. But he is the lead for Epic Games. The developers of Gears of War. That's not a professional game. It's a cool game and not being able to pronounce the name of the lead guy who made the game is definitely not cool.

I haven't gamed on a PC for a real long time... mainly because I couldn't afford it... and I now find the 360 controller more than sufficient for FPS's...
