Lombardi informed GameSetWatch that Portal: Still Alive's additional content will actually come from the fan created, fan tribute Portal: The Flash Version. Levels that can be experienced for free, online but now re-certified for inclusion on the 360 as part of Portal: Still Alive. It's kinda sucky if you think about it, because the flash inspired levels will not feature any story elements or the iconic GLaDOS herself. Major bummer.
So, for those who have yet to experience Portal in all its portal creation glory, Portal: Still Alive looks to be a perfect purchase. It'll be a stand alone XBLA download featuring all the original Portal content plus a few levels from Portal: The Flash Version all for a reasonable price. But for those who already own the Orange Box, Still Alive may not be worth the MS points. Unless, of course, achievements are the main draw or you don't own a computer to play Portal: The Flash Version. If that's the case, then how are you reading this? Public library computers?

One group did remake the flash version in the portal PC game. You can download on your PC and play much like it probably will on the 360. There is GLaDOS commentary throughout the thing, and I do remember laughing, so it must have been witty at times. The puzzles are good as well.

Seems quite strange/ironic, considering they made the announcement in GLaDOS' voice....

I already own TOB but for 800MS points I'd be sold really, that's very generous.
I doubt it will be that price though, sadly.

I hate that OXM article, it misleads people. I've seen a lot of people that think Portal: Still Alive's just a bunch of new challenges. And no GLaDOS at all. Makes me angry, more so when they're ignoring me when I give them the facts.

This is great news. I never played portal but was always interested. The reason i never palyed it was because I wasnt paying $60 for it (I have no interest in half life 2 or TF2. Now i can play all of portal by itself. Then when its time for a real sequel, ill be ready.

Seeing as how you can get the whole "Orange Box" for $20 bucks or so used, they would have to make it a very reasonable $10 to sell Portal: Still Alive. I have a hunch they are going to ask more than that.

I kind of upset about this since I already got Portal on my PC + these maps for free. Was hoping for something original from Valve.

There's no way this will only be $10. I believe Portal for PC retails at $20, I don't see them offering this for less than $15, it's pretty annoying they can't just offer whatever new challenges they have as dlc for people who own TOB instead of purchasing the game all over again.
I didn't like the way they played off the inital announcement like it was an entirely new game and that it was a real sequel to Portal at E3 and then only coming out later about the accurate details of the game.

Yeah, seriously poor form on Valves part, which I would not have expected in the least.

Can't they offer the new maps as DLC for The Orange Box, you know for guys who don't want to buy the game again for a measly few levels?

Seriously...I wouldve been happy if they said they are releasing new levels for Portal as free stuff then having them announce it in a way that you hyped thinking its a sequel when its just a rehash of the game + new levels...

Ok, firstly, it's not Portal without GlaDOS.
And secondly, major disappointment!

So it's a re-release with extra content, but not nearly what one would consider a true sequel. That's too bad.
