In other words, your thumbs never have to leave the analog sticks, making the controller optimal for first person shooters. Those with a feeling of déjà vu are probably thinking of the HG controllers we covered a while ago. The difference here is that F00 f00's control moves the analog stick and does away with the face buttons entirely, rather than doubling them. It's a pretty neat idea, and it makes us wonder how many melee kills we must have missed in Gears. Check out a video of the controller after the break.
Video: DIY FPS controller for Xbox 360
F00 f00 over from Acidmods.com sent us a tip informing us about his newly created FPS controller for the Xbox 360. As you can tell from the image above, his 360 controller has been highly modified. The right analog stick has been moved to be level with the left analog stick. Where did all the face buttons go? Those are on the underside of the controller, where they can be reached with the middle and ring fingers of either hand.

i hate when people put shitty music on youtube videos. Instead of buying a Wii, he should have used the money towards a bigger TV.

LOL that's funny because A) It's actually a pretty good tune, especially compared to most of the emo crap or junky rap people usually put on their videos these days. It's pretty relaxed and works with the simple video. By the way it's not debatably music- If you can hear, there is a MELODY and a DRUMSET, although it is a recurring beat.
B) It doesn't matter how big your TV is, it matters how close you are to it and how much you care. I have a 19-inch HDTV, but I sit about 3 feet away from it, so it might as well be a 46-inch from where I'm situated. But some people are fine even with a small SDTV and considering my screen cost about the price of two Wiis at 19-inches, I'm not sure what you mean by "using the money towards a bigger TV." Unless you meant "using the money towards a bigger TV that will still cost at least as much as three Wiis," which is ridiculous. It may be a shock to you, but some people actually spend money on other things like FOOD and RENT and save their money for other things, like more games, instead of buying an uber-big television that may or may not be necessary.

Instead of buying something stupid like a house, this guy should have ponied up the cash for a 60" Pioneer Plasma and just rented an apartment!
Seriously? You think 250 would have bought him much of a size increase? If anything he'd have been able to get a flat panel...at the exact same size...for 250 more. Woohoo what an upgrade.

I learned, thanks to Rock Band, that the only digits on my hands are my thumbs and forefingers; I can't seem to press the neck chord buttons hard enough half the time with my middle or ring fingers on the guitar. (With my left hand.)
I'd stick to the tried-and-true face buttons on top and embrace the 'push' of the button rather than the 'squeeze' of the modded controller. If anything, it'd have to be first finger presses like a trigger. My middle and ring fingers aren't quick enough for gaming.

I have a similar mod project going with the 360 controller except the face buttons are wear the battery pack would be. The Wireless controller is more comfortable because there is no battery pack to keep your middle fingers from resting comfortably. I have them placed in the middle back and the analoge sticks are in the normal position. The X/A are on the right side and slightly higher than the Y/B which are on the left side. Use your midddle finger for X and Y and your ring finger for A and B. The index finger hits the bumpers and triggers just fine (trust me if I can dominate on Shadowrun without using the middle finger on the trigger than anyone can).

where not were.
Also I meant Wired controller is more comfortable. I have 4 wireless controllers and the only one I ever use is my Wired controller with the messenger kit attached.

it also shows that you could add another 4 buttons to our console controllers, if we need more buttons.

I hate having to use my middle finger on controllers. It's one of the main reasons I hate using the PS3 controller with many setups, because many of them require you to use seperate fingers for R1/R2 and L1/L2 on the DS3, and sitting there with my index and middle fingers on the shoulder buttons just feels awkward and uncomfortable.

I use my index fingers for both shoulder buttons. Just shift it back and forth as needed.

Many of the controller setups for the PS3 require you to use both buttons at the same time.
