Video: Rock climbing antics in Dark Void
Fresh from Capcom's Captivate 08 comes a new Dark Void trailer, complete with jet pack jetting, hand to hand combat and rock climbing battles! Watch the trailer embedded above and try to tell us that the rock climbing combat isn't at the very least mildly interesting. We definitely likey! Also, we aren't sure if it's warranted or not, but we have a nagging worry about Dark Void's controls and if those acrobatic jet-pack moves will be easy to pull off. Meh, no matter ... it's all still pretty cool.

I think AssCreed set the bar for rock climbing in games. This has a jet pack and it's still not nearly as nice.

I'm surprised by the negative reaction. On foot and during vertical cover it's basically Gears of War and the flying parts are Crimson Skies. How can that combination not be amazing? Aside from the complaint about the graphics, which I think are just fine by the way, how is anyone not pumped after watching that? Yes they showed you one enemy but the game is early, we don't even know what year it's going to come out. They still haven't even shown the Shadow of the Colossus style bosses yet.

Well "basically Gears of War" is not Gears of War. I mean, any 3rd person shooter where you can take cover is basically Gears of War when you boil it down. Is Kane and Lynch Gears of War? Hell no, but it basically is.
And even so. Gears of War is what? 3 years old now? So "basically Gears of War" doesn't cut it anymore. You have to be at least Gears of War 2 or better.

Sugar Daddy, clearly you are bitter about GOW because yes, GOW is 2 years old (not 3), and yet no game has even come close to it, graphics and gameplay wise, yeah yeah i know Halo 3 and COD4 are awesome but they are FPS and they dont have cover.

What a bunch of grumbling old curmudgeons, I think most of you just like to bitch... cuz you can make a way better game than stupid Capcom... Shut up and go over to the PS3 fanboy site.
This game looks great... Love the jet pack and its still very early in the development. Gears of war old? You compare that game to any right now and it still looks awesome. I think the rock climbing looks good and has great potential for something different.
