As PC gamers have known for some time,
Team Fortress 2 has been receiving some significant updates, including more achievements and weapons. For some time it was unknown what sort of release these updates would see on 360, the existence of the achievements hinting that it would see
some sort of release. Speaking at EA's Spring Showcase, Doug Lombardi of Valve said that there would be details coming soon on the content and confirmed that it would be seeing release. Apparently the devs were waiting for enough new content to create a DLC "Pack", which is more conducive to the 360's downloadable content structure. Unfortunately, there is no word now as to whether the pack will be free like its PC counter-part. Hopefully the forthcoming info including good news about the DLC's pricing.

One of the main reasons i've held off buying the game for 360 because of the lack of support. Hopefully it won't be to long and will be free because the TF2 community on Xbox Live isn't that big to begin with, splitting its playerbase won't be a good thing. Still good its coming.

lack of support? You mean you didn't want to buy the game because there might not have been new maps?

Joy! I love TF2, and it's never dead whenever I go to play. Sure I deal with truckloads of twerps, but I have fun.
I had the OB on the 360 for no reason other than to play Half Life. Then I found Portal and Team Fortress, and haven't touched Half Life since then.
I got my money's worth, and the extra content will most certainly get me back into playing TF2 again!!

Only problem with TF2 on the Xbox 360 is noone talks, rarely do you run into a player that uses their mic to communicate as a team. The rare person who does talk is usually a jackass.

I am appalled at the people bashing this game, do you fellows even play it....probably not. However, I play everyday and there is always games and always people who communicate. The number of no mics is a bit much at times, but if you ask if people have mics, you will usually see 4-5 more icons pop up. There is some issues, yes, but can you show me a perfect game...no. If you really want to play with some good players come down to the xbox dot com forums for TOB and we will show you a good time. Also, Valve has personally come to our forums and written letters to forums members, and informed us that they (Valve) want the map pack to be free but it is in M$ hands....they have not forgotten 360 players.

First off, your usage of the term "bash" makes you look like a mutant forum dwelling retard. Secondly I never attacked this game. On the contrary, I love this game; it plays second only to Shadowrun on the 360 and second only to Unreal Tournament 2004 on the PC. Don't stretch what little criticism I have for this game into blind hatred for the title.

it only seems fair for PC users to get it for free since they, technically, paid more for it anyway as TF2 costs 20 dollars or so on PC whereas we paid 60 dollars, $12 towards TF2 if we split the orange box evenly...

I'm not sure if that's correct...
It's 20 dollars if you buy it separately from the Orange Box, on the PC, but that's more of a "punishment" for not purchasing the whole shebang seeing as they actually pay less for the Orange Box (as a whole - $39 when it came out, $49 when it launched) 'cause it's a PC title. So, yeah the only reason they're getting anything is because of the ease of releasing things via PC versus a console.

I will not pay for just TF2 DLC. Throw in some portal and Half life content and then I'll throw some $$ at it. One map and some Doctor fixes or achievements isn't enough for me to spend money on. But I'm sure some suckers will gladly. To all Suckers.. I don't care how much work went into the little bit of TF2 DLC and how those poor program writers should get paid for their work, TF2 was broken and is still broken from the beginning. I'm sorry but plays like crap compared to other titles like Halo 3,COD4,R6V2,Gears,and GTA IV just to name a few. They need to fix whats broken first. No need to reply to my comment, I don't care about you negative opinion about my comment and wont be back to see what you said suckers.

How does Valve think they're going to charge for TF2 DLC... when there is sometimes only 1 game going on XBL?
This is a niche game and Valve has let it die on the vine. If you put the DLC out there Valve, we may do you a favor and download it and actually play your game again. Otherwise, yeah, don't waste your time if it's gonna cost.

YES! i was waiting for some sort of confirmation like this to surface. I was extremly Jealous of the PC version of TF2 now i can be happy with the 360 version which is clearly less laggy and in my opinion the graphics are clearer and the game runs smoother.

Hell yes, Shadowrun is one of my all time favorite shooters. It plays second to none on the 360 and is my fallback game after all these new releases (SEE: GTA IV, COD4, Halo 3, every other overly-popular game) get stale and tired.

Considering so most things as far as DLC goes you have to pay for on XBLM, I really wouldn't be surprised if there is a cost involved on these TF2 goodies.

If Ace Combat 6 can get separate DLC for separate planes, why can't they just make DLC for the new map and a title update for the achievements + weapons?
@ rkrone : Then maybe you should have made a separate post instead of replying to his.
