Video: Flawless 'The Perfect Drug' drumming
In news that isn't timely but is still very important because of the "holy crap!" reaction it gets, we bring you video of IBitePrettyHard drumming to Rock Band's "The Perfect Drug" DLC at 100% perfect, no faults and completely flawless. A 1,893 note streak? In-freakin-credible! Note that this video is not to be confused with the other expertly drummed "The Perfect Drug" video we posted about this past February, because it wasn't 100% perfect. Also, this new video shows not only the notes being played but the player's drum movements, which is rather interesting. Man, if only we had an ounce of Rock Band talent ...

Yeah, he's good, but if I had that drumset it'd be a lot easier than the crap one that came with the game. If he's that good lets see him play it with that retartded little footpedal the rest of us play with.

Looking for excuses for your ineptitude. Either way it was incredible. The foot pedal is only 1 part of the notes played.

I have to agree with Satanlka.. The drums the game comes with are pure crap. It misses random notes for no apparent reason, and I can't find a pattern. One in every 15 notes or so will just miss for no good reason at all. I have the less sensitive set as well, which makes matters worse.
Contemplating sending them in to EA...

My ineptitude? triple word score for you brainiac. I said he was good didn't I. Did I imply that I was as good no.... BUT if he's going to claim to be flawless, let him level the playing field and play with what the rest of us got.

Not only is he using a custom pedal. He's also using different pads that offer some bounce.

I agree with you satanika - its clear he's using his own trigger pad set connected to some interface device (connected to xbox).
And the RockBand drumset is the only reason I Do NOT own rock band.
But I invested money in a real drumset, not electronic pads, so I lose on being able to re-create this guy's setup.
Awesome job though... One of my fave songs ever.

It looks like it's a pedal called the RockPedal, which you can find here:
http://www.rockpedal.com
This, along with the Omega pedal and the Destroyer pedal, can all be purchased by anyone. In addition, you can easily make your own with a standard bass pedal and a simple switch. The instructions are out there all over the place. Try the Rock Band website for starters.

I completely agree with Satanlka. I play the drums in real life and I love Rock Band but I can't stand the drum set that came with the game. With the combination of random notes not registering and trying to calibrate the instruments to my DLP the game can be extremely frustrating at times.

Am I seeing things? It looks like the regular drum set to me, with a different pedal and some mouse-pads glued (actually they look taped) to the drums... That's not a different drum set, just a modified one.
So satanika, I guess you have that set already, minus the mouse pads ;)

"Triple word score for you brainiac" = best comeback ever.
I just find it interesting that everytime a post like this comes along the first comment is about discrediting the person's accomplishment.

Yea he uses a custom kit but only because it kept crapping out on him, their not too reliable. It was mostly out of necessity.

Heh, I suspect the amount of practice required to pull off something like this probably would burn through 3 or 4 of the stock kits =-)

It's a regular drum pedal. Looks like a tama or pearl (tho I cant say for sure, could be one of a dozen makers).
He's using a trigger pad drum set. rubber pads with a lot of good feel and bounce (replicating drumhead tension, as opposed to the feel of a drum set of cardboard boxes - the feel that the rock band drum set replicates so well)...The pads have electronic sensors so you can plug your own midi pad trigger programs in, and create a drumset that sounds like whatever .wav's or .mid's you can plug in.

that looks like the standard set of drums (aside from the foot pedal) to me, it's on the stand and everything. i think he might just have covers on them for some weird reason.
videos like this show the downfall of youtube/internet video, the framerate is no where near good enough to actually tell how he's hitting them.

Yeah, he is playing a pretty heavily modified drumkit, but that doesn't really take away from his skill. Plus, he's playing on a CRT TV, which means you can play the game with none of the delay compensation that you have to use with most HDTVs.

Oh my freaking god. Who is he, and what band does he play in? Also, a great editing job. You could see him hit the drums and the notes at the same time. Though i found one thing odd- the TV in the shot looked like a tube, which should have the weird lines going on it. It might have been a flat panel and just looked like a tube though.
