After a one week break -- no new XBLA games last week -- XBLA in Brief is back. This week we take a look at the new trivia game Wits and Wagers. Aimed squarely at casual gamers, Wits and Wagers emphasizes simple gameplay over the more hardcore elements of games like, say, Ikaruga. No sharp reflexes needed here. Just select your answer, place your bets, and see who wins. Not bad, though it's definitely not for everyone. Check out the video and see what you think.

Ok, I'll accept you think it's an ok game but look at what OXM had to say, "A genius quiz-show game that ranks right up there with classics like "You Don't Know Jack."
Genius?! You have got to be kidding me! You can hardly even properly call this a trivia game, it's a guessing game.
This is why I do NOT regret letting my OXM subscription run out. Their rating system is severely flawed.
Even _thinking_ about putting Wits & Wagers (which I purchased and somewhat like) in the realm of comparison to "the next You Don't Know Jack" is just a boldfaced lie. Definitely a low point for the mag.
WOW, #1 hit the nail on the head. This game out-right SUCKS!! I was expecting something in the same lines of Scene-It and I was totally disappointed!! Not to mention, a full 800 points is outrageous!! These are the games that souldn't apply for XBLA!!!
The game's nothing special. There seem to be some glitches (I won an online game with the 3rd most points). For the cheevo whores, though, this should be a quick 200 (except for maybe the 700 question achievement).
It seems interesting enough, but the characters are SO DAMN FREAKY... not in any remotely good way either. I can't imagine I could tolerate those monstrosities longer than I did with the video... which might have been 15 seconds. Clearly, Microsoft doesn't evaluate what goes up on Live Arcade.

To add to the fun this game seems to be region locked.... no Canada/USA mixed games. Color me pissed for spending $10 without knowing.

Honestly the game simply looks like asshole. I wish there was more quality control for XBLA titles.
