Recently announced Madden NFL 09 coverboy, and retiree, Brett Favre was vocal on his future and video game honor in an interview with the Associated Press last Friday. The three-time NFL MVP discussed his future off the field along with his legacy and was very candid when the Madden honor was mentioned. "I'm not savvy enough to play this game," Favre said. "Most of the younger generation has no idea [John Madden] coached."Favre ended the Madden discussion by taking a quick shot at the younger generation of NFL Pros. "Some of our guys play Madden better than they play on Sundays. And they spend more time talking about playing Madden." Well, based on Green Bay's 2007-2008 playoff record, the team clearly didn't spending time talking about beating the New York Giants. Ba-zing!

Apparently no other team the Giants played was as concerned about them as they should have been. Especially the Patriots.
Yes Favre, Madden coached, but did YOU know he actually played, in a manner of speaking? He was on the Eagles roster for a bit anyway.

I hate to speak for Favre, but yeah he probably does.
The man is one of the greatest quarterbacks to EVER play in the NFL. He was a master player and a student of the game, so I'm sure he knows his football history/trivia.
In any event, he's probably dead on. I mean, look at the guys that think too much about strippers (Adam Jones), drunk-driving (Chris Henry), guns (Tank Johnson), TV careers (Jason Taylor) etc. instead of working on their football skills. It doesn't surprise me that a good number of them play Madden, probably better than they play football.
That being said, I'll await the flames that I'm sure will come my way- I'm not comparing too much video games to beating up strippers (although some would have you believe one leads to another! zing!) I'm just saying that it doesn't surprise me that some guys play Madden better than they play football. I know dudes that play Madden better than they do their real jobs- football players just have more money and time to do it. :)

In the word of (Frank Caliendo) John Madden. "If you could clone Brett Favre and put him in all the positions on the field, and then you played him against another team of cloned Brett Favres, I mean I think the universe would explode."

This post has what to do with the Pats?

@Xav,
Do you watch the NFL? Did you watch the Green Bay-New York game? Funny how it was Favre himself that lost that game and his chance at another Super Bowl ring, not some Madden-playing, 20-something superstar. And considering the Giants beat the Pats two weeks later at the big show, it doesn't seem your ba-zing carries much weight. Whatever.
