With this being the year fighting games make their glorious return, it shouldn't be too surprising that Mortal Kombat is going to be getting a sequel (the eighth in the series, can you believe it?). While it is confirmed that there will be another game in the series, the specifics are tightly under wraps for the moment, and Midway plans to release them relatively soon. Some of the outlets that have gotten (or will get) access to the info already have teasers up for the thing, and those in and of themselves may have been more of a giveaway than intended.
GamesRadar posted a teaser image with promise of an exclusive video tomorrow, but they should have looked much more closely at the filename. The image is named "MKDC blog--article_image" which basically gives away the big secret. Not to mention the blatantly obvious Superman silhouette in the picture itself. It looks as though Midway might have an answer of their own to Marvel VS Capcom and X-Men VS Street Fighter. Too bad they're about 10 years too late.
[Note: Since this post's original writing, the picture has been removed from GamesRadar's post, so interpret what that means for yourself. We, however, think "confirmed"]

Confirmed you are probably right. This could be very interesting if it does for sure turn out to be true.

This has been rumored for a while now. Does anyone genuinely want this crossover? If there are any two IP's that I would never had guessed would crossover it would be MK and DC. Weren't there rumors that this would be going for a 'T' rating? I guess that would make more sense, I'm sure DC doesn't want Midway decapitating Wonder Woman.

DC is no stranger to releasing ultra violent comics featuring some of their most famous characters so it really wouldn't be that much of a shocker.

MK VS. DC wont happen. Marvel VS. Capcom was easy because Marvel's characters were easy to adapt into the Street Fighter style. Their powers became specials and Hyper Combos. But converting DC characters into an MK style is impossible. There's no way in hell DC comics will allow their good guy characters like Batman and Wonder Woman and Aqua Man perform Fatalities on each other or the MK characters. It would ruin the reputation of the DC character's involved.

Aquaman character was already ruined.Anything at this point is an improvement,I mean DC had to redesign Aquaman to look badass and still he kind of suck.

Not going to happen. There aren't even going to be any Shokans (the race that Goro is) in the game. You can quote me on that.

I am not really a comic book fan, but how can you say that the same company that created Batman sucks? They earn instant respect for that single character alone. I assume your name means that you like Marvel, but going on what few points of reference I do have into comics ( the Marvel and DC cartoons of the early ninties and the movies based on their properties) I would say Batman is pretty much better than every Marvel franchise. Although I do love Iron Man (mainly because my love of robots and things that look like robots and there is a Black Sabbath song of the same name).

To be honest, Batman is the only good character that DC has ever created. Superman has only one weakness, and kryptonite is pretty hard to come by. Green Lantern has no weakness any more (I think), Aquaman is, well...Aquaman, and the list goes on. To make it better, basically every DC character that isn't one of the bigger heroes is basically a clone of another character!
Marvel is different AND better. For starters, Marvel books actually take place in real places, not metropolis or Gotham City. Marvel has The Sentry, who is like Superman, but he differs in the fact that HE ACTUALLY HAS A WEAKNESS. That goes for all Marvel characters. To top it off, Marvel doesn't repeat the same freaking event every year. DC, on the other hand can't stop with their Infinite amount of Crisis books. Too bad everyone will be reading Secret Invasion to care about Final Crisis.
