Bionic Commando Rearmed rated M, guess why

The official Bionic Commando website has revealed that Bionic Commando Rearmed -- that's the XBLA version -- has received an M rating from the ESRB. The rating was announced via a nifty communicator dialogue reminiscent of the original game (you can see a capture of it above). So, why would a game with no blood and extremely tame violence get an M rating? If you've ever played the original and completed it, we'll give you three guesses. Yes, the reason is that Bionic Commando Rearmed features a recreation of the climactic scene from the original game. You know the one. If by chance you don't know the one, you can find a video after the break (it occurs at 0:10). Be warned, it's spoilerific. And sploderific.

No, it's not because Hitler exploded. It's because they rewrote history for bionic commando to kill Hitler instead of Hitler killing himself like a puss.

That's incredibly sad. Frankly, and I don't say this lightly, I would rather have had the team re-write the ending (or make it an option you can turn on/off or *something*) than see what would otherwise be an E10 or *maybe* T game get cut off from huge swaths of the XBLA audience. It's practically criminal to deprive today's youth of a game as good as the NES BC.

that....doesn't even make sense.

if we are talking about the helicopter exploding that is, the blast would interrupt the codec signal before any footage of Hitler's exploding face could be shown. and if a bomb were inside Hitler it would be too instantaneous to even allow a clear transmission.

now acid melting his face or opening of the Ark of the Covenant ala "Raiders of the Lost Ark", then i could see a plausible explanation for this.
