Rock Band selling OXM exclusive DLC next week
Yeah, so ... we'll just cut to the chase here sidestepping all the fluff. Next week's Rock Band DLC (which good old hmxsean just posted over on the official Rock Band forums) is going to be a re-hashed re-release. Remember those three exclusive OXM downloads that were included in the magazine way back in January? Well, they're going to be for sale via the XBLM on April 9th and that's all were getting for DLC. For 80 Microsoft points per track or 240 points for all three songs bundled, you can grab "Rock Rebellion" by Bang Camaro, "Shake" by Count Zero and "Super Sprode" by Freezepop. We'd be lying if we didn't admit we are a bit disappointed seeing that anyone who was excited for these "exclusive" tracks probably picked up a copy of OXM a few months back. For those who really weren't excited and still aren't ... well, there's always next week. Humph.

This is really disappointing. I hate myself for spending 8 bucks on this DLC. The only reason I did it was because it was "exclusive", had I realized they meant "exclusive for 2 months", I wouldn't have bothered.

Wow! Hahaha! OXM was riding on the high horse about this content. Looks like it was what everyone thought, a hook to get you to buy the magazine.

Man. It's been nothing but bad news for me on the video game front.
First Rainbow Six Vegas 2 screws me out of TWO achievements (the Private First Class one and the Complete the Story on Realistic one) and now THIS!?!?!
The worst part of these Harmonix games are the unlockable songs. I avoid them like the plague on the disc, why would I choose to PAY for more of them?

Adam, for the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement:
if you were hosting the game when you beat it on realistic, try joining someone else's game and playing through the first scene from the first act, and the last scene from the last act.
If you joined someone else's game, try hosting and doing the same. It will surely work.

To my knowledge, Bang Camaro and Freezepop are employees at Harmonix.
This is the fist time I say, "Damn you Harmonix!" I always look forward to these damn DLC announcements and you announce songs I've had for over a month and still don't play? Boston pack 01 FTW!!!!!! .....hums "Peace of Mind"

I really don't think there's much to complain about...Harmonix has been really diligent about releasing DLC on a weekly basis. Hell, there are 78 songs available for download. GH III on the other hand only has 30.

I agree with you. I'm not really complaining. I was just hoping for a sweet 6 pack since "Still Alive" showed up by itself. Activision doesn't release DLC on a regualr basis so they can just slap out another version of GH.

come on! how bout some real rocking songs, like more WHO, pink floyd, led Zeppelin, van halen or something.
the last two weeks dlc has sucked. when you play with people who don't know a lot of music the last thing they can play is some stupid original stuff or crappy portals theme.

This works out well for me, since I've still only played the Boston Pack songs through one time. Don't have to burden myself with new songs yet, and can play through my other stuff. So it's kinda good news. But the DLC this week is poo. Same for last week's. Oh well. Hopefully next week holds something awesome since they basically took 2 weeks off.

Yeah its a fun song, if you liked it in Amplitude you'll love it here. The other 2 weren't that great. "Shake" is actually pretty awful.

I woulda been in for a download if they threw up a repeat of Radium Eyes. Other than that, yawn on the no name bands (no offense Harmonix peeps, but no record contract should = free DLC for exposure).
