The Castle Crashers dev blog has had some fun and interesting things, keeping the media flowing and the interest high. Their latest reveal is a feature they're calling Animal Orbs. During the game you'll find these animal-limbed orbs and they will imbue you with an enhancement, or help you in combat, or aid you in some manner not unlike a power-up. As with the Periwinke Knight, there was a reveal of a single orb, along with it's unique power, visible above. Though it was explained that there is currently a total of 23 different orbs with a variety of powers, there has only been one official reveal, and the dev blog suggests that not all of them will be unveiled there. However, the top banner of the blog has been changed to include some animal orbs, and from the looks of things there's going to be a cardinal, a dog or wolf, and cat or small tiger tagging along with you as well.

You know I was hoping to see something more along the lines of "CASTLE CRASHERS RELEASED TODAY FREE ON XBOX LIVE!!!!11!!!1!!!!one!!!!!!1!"
And then realize it was an April Fools joke, but regardless if this is a joke or not it has been a huge disappointment.

"Uhh, April Fools joke?"
March 26, 2008 posting. So, probably not. It fits within the style of the game.

The fanboy audience surprises me - guys, this is not an April fools joke, and it's not lame, either.
In terms of it being April Fools, they released the information for the Owl long before April. Unless it's a way too far in advanced April Fools plot that is poorly executed, you're way off base.
As for cute critters, what's wrong with 'em? They're basically a visual way to represent the powerups, and I think it's unique and cool (and oochiegoochie cutiewutie). And really, are you complaining about additional content? There's already so much there, anyway. It's hard to be like, "Oh, that's what Castle Crashers offers?" Well, yes. That, and 100 other things.

Awww... so cute. What's wrong with you guys, how can you hate on something so cuddly? I hope that this game isn't as insanely difficult as Alien Hominid HD was. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't as hard.
