Update: Some of our loyal commenters are telling us that a modified Xbox 360 console is not required for the Battlefield: Bad Company beta leak. However, considering the online nature of this "demo" we'd recommend you'd be wary of attempting this process -- lest the ban hammer be used to knock your console offline for good.
Tipsters are telling us that the Battlefield: Bad Company beta has not only leaked to online download sites but that it may also be playable via a burnt DVD-R, much like the demo for Guitar Hero III. The ability to clone the download of the beta and release it to other consoles also reminds us of the Call of Duty 4 beta glitch which allowed gamers to use the account recovery feature to circumvent the barriers in place of people who hadn't been selected to participate in the closed test.
This situation appears to be more serious as download sites are claiming users will have to modify their console in particular ways in order to run the download from a DVD-R. Of course we remind you that any modification of your Xbox 360 console will void your warranty and can lead to an outright ban of all Xbox online services, including playing games over Xbox Live.
Don't do it. Stay in school. This is your brain on drugs.
You get the idea.

Game itself isn't bad at all... but they did have some server issues yesterday, took quite a while to finally get connected to games. But once I connected, didn't have any performance issues.... and I thought it was a lot of fun.

I dunno, i hate it.
You move like you have lead in your boots, so slow and bulky.vehicle's are slow and sluggish as well although i haven't had a chance to try the helicopter yet cause everyone grabs it.
I constantly found myself just falling over dead cause there'd be some sniper in the far distance, that i can't even see picking me off and due to no kill cam you have no idea where the hell he is.
Spawning sucks.
Graphics are actually pretty bad IMO but i suppose it's so huge they have to tone it down a bit.
I've never played a battlefield before, maybe this is what there all like, maybe this is why people love them. Personally I'd take COD4 over it any day. Don't get me started on the 6-10 guns they have on sell either.

They are banning the accounts of people that did not receive a key for the beta. So I would recommend against getting into the beta illegally.

Does the word Beta mean anything to you.
I could've sworn it doesn't reflect on the final game!!!

It's not that bad. I had fun with it last night.
The graphics are a little... yeah, not so good. However, this IS a beta, so I'm sure it will look great when it comes out.
The vehicles are fun, the chopper is hard to handle (for me anyway) but still fun.
The respawn times are horrible.
The destructible environments are great! I love the fact that if somebody is sniping from a window I can just blow a hole in the wall and take his ass out!

I don't think the beta key is linked to your gamertag, i got a key and couldn't download the beta because i don't have a hard drive so i gave the key to my brother who downloaded and is playing it no problem(different gamertab different console)

We all realize that the beta isn't the final game, but to say that the final game is going to be so much different is just stupid. Except for a few tweaks here and there, you're playing the final game.
And from what I've seen and heard this game isn't worth modding my Xbox for, let alone just trying to get into the beta.

X3F you need to fix you quote, you dont need a modify console to play the disk it works fine on all consoles, just like GHIII Demo. I got my key legit btw.

Um, few tweaks? Yea, a few tweaks in the right spot can make a big difference, increase in gameplay and a better experience overall. Plus it hasn't been polished.

as mentioned above, no mods or hacks are needed to run the beta. You can burn it to a dvd-r, pull a retail 360 right out of the box and you're in the beta.
Karma for charging for access to better weapons. I feel sorry for those who pre-order this junk just to get in on the beta.

I for one thinks this game is gonna be sick i liked the other battlefields and i like this one what is better than chasing some one down in a tank to watch him hide in a house and now having the option to blow the wall down theres no where safe in this game and i like the fact that theres no kill came because u can actually snipe now with out having to move every time u kill some one cause your spot gets blown just the beta alone get 2 thumbs up from me minus the server issues

i enjoy the beta, but you need to accept that battlefield is battlefield, and they will continue to make it feel the same way it always had.
It feels a lot like battlefield 2, but a lot of stuff has been improved and the destructible environments add to the game play.
i mean it's no COD4, but it's not supposed to be, and it's fun and different in it's own way.
