After years of griping, whining and hand-wringing, the competitive sub section of the Halo 3 community is getting what it wants. When the April Halo 3 Playlist Update hit's it will include a change from the old-standby, Team Hardcore, to an actual MLG Playlist. There is so far no word on the exact changes, or what weight game-types will have in the hoppers, or even which MLG game-types will be in. While not much is really known, this is big news for both the organization and the game, and we can't help but wonder if this is part of the effort to increase the player base again. Still, MLG.com promises more info soon and we'll bet that this week's Bungie Weekly What's Update will include some info as well. Bring it on, we say.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Personally, I don't think it'll be enough to regain the Live crown myself.
I think that top spot has gone for good. Free (and new) DLC will probably be the only thing that gets it back.

This is very cool news. I took a break recently, but have been playing more and more halo lately. It's still king, in my opinion.
CoD 4 is great, but I'm getting a little bored with it- I don't think there's quite as much skill differential as there is in halo.

Halo 3 is still number one for me. I love vehicles and blowing up vehicles. Plus the physics in that game is insane. My buddy's b-day is this weekend and all he wants to do is get a bunch of people over and play Halo 3 so I'll be down for that.

I think Bungie caters to MLG players way too much, an example of this is the fact that every gametype is going BR start now and becoming just like Halo 2, it's kind of annoying.

For those complaining about MLG, consider this a good thing. No more whining! God it was driving me crazy with all the whining and complaining. It will hopefully clear out some of the other playlists so I can have fun again. Bungie will probably also readdress some of the other game types that come up in the hoppers since the MLGers have a place to go.
MLG rules can also be pretty fun if you’ve never played it. It can be liberating not have to look at the radar all the time. Although, Team SWAT is good for that too. I can’t wait to try it out this weekend!

I really wish Bungie weren't caving to this little pricks. They ruined halo 2 with the cries of 'Noob combo'. You want to use grenades? You are a noob. You want to run away and recharge your shields? You are a noob. You want to fight back and not let them shoot you? You are a noob. If they beat you, you are a noob also.
The saddest part is that they are little kids mostly. They have infected COD 4 recently - we were playing search and destroy and the fuckers were complaining we were camping and GASP running away when they fired at us?
When you have one life and you have to defend an objective, what other way are you supposed to play?
Little bastards. I hope they all fuck off back to counter strike and leave everybody who plays games for, you know, FUN, alone.
