After the release of the Naruto game, did you just expect the graphical style of the game to be dead outside of DBZ fighters? We here at X3F certainly didn't, which is why we're not surprised at the recent announcement that there will be an Afro Samurai game. Which is great because the show's plot is almost tailor made for a video game, i.e. the story revolves around fights. Play magazine was given a preview of the game, and it appears to match the "hand drawn" look characteristic of cel-shaded-anime-licensed games (such as Naruto). If the gameplay is there to match the look, we could be looking at the beginnings of a very nice 3D action game. Not only could this end up a good game, but this news might just turn on a few folks to the (excellent, if derivative) anime mini-series.

Ah yes, no entertainment medium can ever have enough Samuel L Jackson. Haha, hard to say that with a straight face...
Anyway yeah the Naruto 360 game was really good, even though Naruto is pretty damn annoying. Given anime and Samuel L Jackson's track record for producing anything good outside of what it knows (for anime tv shoes and for Samuel L Jackson "Pulp Fiction") the chances of this being any good are slim to none.

I would hardly call it a stylish. Realistic models and rendering looks much better. This style that has been used in Crackdown, Naruto, and the DBZ games needs to go far, far, away forever.

In your opinion. I love the cartoony visuals in games. Team Fortress 2, Shadowrun and Naruto: Rise of a Ninja are good examples of them being pulled off well.
I'm not sure about you but I play games to excape reality and short of simulators I thing games are better with over-the-top (Unreal series) or cartoony (Team Fortress 2) visuals.

I dunno, that style just turns me off. To me, it doesn't seem to use the systems full potential. Like a Gears of War or COD4, etc.

Hope this is good, I loved the series on Bravo. The art style, soundtrack and story were all top notch.
Wasn't it the Rza from Wu-Tang who did the music for it?
@BorgDroNeZ: It's an anime, why would they try to make it look 'realistic'? You just sound like a graphics whore when you say if it doesn't look 'real' then it's not using the system's full potential.
But that's just my opinion too!
