In honor of our new feature beginning on Valentine's Day we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to start with one of the best map/variant combos available for Halo 3, Armory Infection. In this Infection variant, players are randomly selected as hunters while all other players struggle for survival. However, while other soldiers have fallen to the horde of bloody-thirsty zombies these remaining few are held up in a fortified stronghold with nearly every weapon at their disposal, who will be the last man standing?

ARMORYINFECTION
Map: The Pit
Gametype: Infection
Players: 5-16
Rounds: 5
Time Limit: None
Score Limit: 0
An armory is located on one side of the map where survivors must fight a relentless onslaught of zombies. Weapons, equipment and turrets are scattered throughout the armory for the defending team while zombies must work together to wipe them off the face of the earth.
When the match begins 25% of the gamers are randomly selected as infected. A zombie kill adds a new member to the infected race, but as a second-generation zombie they deal less damage than the Alpha infected. The match end when the last survivor is killed.
Human Kills: 2
Zombie Kills: 1
Betrayal/Suicide: -1
Last Man Standing Bonus: 3
The last man standing is rewarded with a stat increase, boosting health to 150% and shield boost to 200% of the normal rates.
At the second round players with the highest kill count are automatically selected as Zombies in the next round in order to balance scoring. After 5 rounds of play, a player is selected as the overall winner based on the amount of points he/she received.

Variant: ARMORYINFECTION
Map: DEFEND ARMORY

Anyone interested in playing this gametype? Maybe we could even for a group that tries out all of the Community Content and posts battle reports.
If you're interested, send me a friend request (Jedijoe9) and I'll try to get a game going tonight.

This looks very good, I have it in my queue, but after some shakey Halo 3 a few hours ago not sure if I am going online again today because you can't quit the game without losing points, and playing a laggy game is the most annoying thing in the world.

Nice work Xav.
You should get a "sanctioned" X3F gamernight going and we could rotate through the best of the best custom gametypes/maps.

I have a gametype and map variants almost exactly like this that I set up back in September, and refined through the new maps.
They're all up in my fileshare:

I wonder if this guy has posed this on ForgeHub? It's a great place to find custom maps and gametypes like this.
