In an effort to make a few quick bucks, team Namco has plans to release yet
another set of semi-overpriced
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation DLC next week. Oh joy! The new DLC will land onto the XBLM tarmac on Thursday, January 31st and consist of four jets that cost 200 Microsoft points each (CFA-44 Nosferatu Prototype, Tornado GR4 Raging Shark, F-14D Super Tomcat Razgriz and Su-33 Flanker Yellow Squadron), one jet that costs a pain inducing 400 points (Su-47 Berkut The Idolmaster Miki-EX) and one that'll be gratis (Typhoon UPEO Emblem). And we have a sneaking suspicion that most
AC6 gamers will be solely picking up the Typhoon UPEO Emblem ... just saying.

God, I haven't seen such a blatant attempt to rip off gamers since Lumines Live.

The devs of this game are lazy as hell when it comes to DLC.
All we really pay points for is a new paint job...its bullshit.
How about they take the time to make the other planes in the game playable with cockpits. The F4 Phantom for example...

Im thinking if picking this game up but I keep reading these stories about DLC and Im worried I might crack and buy them, but as a game designer I know exactly what goes into to making a NEW skin for a model (i.e. new paint job) and I can tell you Not.Very.Long. Period.

If you liked the previous AC games then you'll like this one...mostly because the story line is almost exactly the same but w/ different country names...
It is gorgeous though, I was drooling the entire time I was playing through...and I'm happy to report that I was never tempted to buy the DLC :) haha

Wow, such whining. My favorite: Someone complains abuot the prices when he no longer plays the game.
Um, are they forcing you to pay anything?

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. If you think its too much, great, don't download it. I myself have bought several of the planes, notably the Idolm@ster ones and a few others, and this time I will again. Firstly because I am an admitted anime addict and any excuse to stick anime into a game I will jump on usually. Secondly, the planes are not *just* color changes- these planes have stats altered from the originals. Some for the better, some not so great. Like the Idolm@ster F-117- I use this thing in almost every ground attack in the game now, because although its slower then the already slow F-117, it has a much higher payload. 80 of those area blast antiship missiles make getting an S in most ground assaults a piece of cake. So just keep in mind the basis of business- if nobody bought the first packs, they wouldn't have made any more of them.

I actually just bought this game ...
Maybe when I'm tired of my A-10 or Mirage I'll give these a look :)
Or maybe I'll just go back to playing CoD4.
