Let's break down TeamXbox's speculative theory. This year at GDC Microsoft has outdone themselves and has paid for the largest floorspace of any company attending. And guess who has the second largest floorspace? No, not Sony or Nintendo, it's our friends over at Epic Games. And guess where their floorspace is situated. Correct, both Microsoft and Epic Games' GDC gigantic floorspaces are right next to eachother. Gasp! Taking everything one step further, both Microsoft and Epic have absolutely no partnership or connection other than their Gears of War roots. So, this all must mean that the massive amount of floorspace and close proximity means that we'll see a Gears of War 2 announcement at GDC! W00t! Or Epic just needs lots of room to showcase their Unreal Engine 3 and Microsoft wants to make a splash, because they're Microsoft and have money coming out of their ears. Meh, we prefer the Gears 2 speculation. It's more exciting and gives us something hope for.

And with Microsoft and Bungie recently splitting up maybe they are looking to gobble up some more developers...

Imagine that! I highly doubt Epic would EVER sell out especially since they don't really need to, but you never know!

Hell yes! That predicition is spot on. We all know it's coming and now that just puts the nail in the coffin on when we'll find out.
Anyone think we'll see it this year? After all, GoW PC didn't even use the whole GoW team to do so it's entirely possible! And with the so called "big hitters" of PS3 arriving this year, something tells me this might be part of Microsoft's answer. We shalt see!

They are probably planning to assassinate Mark Rein because noone gives a shit about the new id engine. No matter how many gbs of texture it can load in real time.

I hope they don't ruin GoW2 by trying to improve it. Wouldn't that just ruin your day when GoW2 turns up at the booth, only to be a real-time strategy set in outer space, with the clangers and the main characters, controlled via voice commands and gestures with the Live Vision Camera.

Why would they need that much space to showcase a game that has already been released on two platforms?

Yea it was such a bad game, it was so bad it is single handily responsible for keeping the 360 afloat pre Halo3. The multiplayer was so bad I literally couldn't stop playing for hours. Just real bad.

I think Gears blew our minds with it's impressive "next-gen" graphics, but I agree, I hope they fix a lot of things besides it's pretty grapchics, like gameplay, host advantage, game-modes, leaderboards, playing with friends, bigger party games, etc.

I agree on the Valve/Havoc Comment - I mean, isn't Havoc a foregone conclusion nowadays? Why do they need so much publicity - every game has Havoc, no?
Valve doesn't get enough credit/press - they're amazingly talented (props to 360F for Portal - Game of the Year ;-)
As for your GOW comment - I don't know you played, but it wasn't GOW... maybe it was Bomberman AZ?

Yeah we need to be able to change settings after you've started up the game, including map rotation. The kick system is flawless (if not a bit hilarious when you have split-screeners in ther) for me. Teamkilling is ever so satisfying in that game. There needs to be more weapons as well. The gameplay mechanics are great though, the dodging and cover system is like Unreal Tournament meets Killswitch or something.
The only real thing I want out of the sequal is the ability of the downed person to hear the enemy standing over them. So one can spout out bible quotes before passing rightous judgment on their ass. If we can't have that then we need to utilize either the Y or LB button to select a taunt of our choice (since they both do the same thing). Those taunts should also be animated with plenty of pelvic thrusting.
