Nothing like a surprise demo to brighten your day. Scratch that, nothing like a good surprise demo to brighten your day. Today's demo is Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements from Ubisoft. We haven't actually taken it for a spin just yet, so we haven't verified the "good" part of the equation, but we're hopeful. We can confirm that the demo lets players access both single player and multiplayer modes, which is always nice for a demo. For those unfamiliar with the game, it's a very violent fantasy FPS. Check out the trailer after the break and see if it looks like your cup of tea.

AAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
I really want to download it, but stupid Microsoft with their stupid update made it so I can't download M rated, and even some T rated demos! I can download everything else (that I don't care about) fine, but the stuff I want to download? NO! Of course I can't do that, that's perpostorous, being able to download the things you want to; ABSURD!

I think it's far from terrible. It's not mindblowing, but I had fun with what was there. Seems like they improved upon some aspects of the PC version.

Horrible, from the way that you're body moves and then your arms play catch up to twist on the new direction, to the completely absent animations, I can't imagine this game being anything good.

@ Tony. Precisely. The demo is bad, it's not great either.
The problem is the watermark has been set by Oblivion for a game like this......Nuff said!!

God that was awful. Finishing that demo really wasn't fun. It's amazing that Oblivion, now nearly two years old, does everything this game is trying to do better, with what is most likely thousands of hours more content.

I liked it, but I would have liked to invert the y-axis. I hate playing first-person games without inversion.
Also, this game, by definition, can't be an FPS. Using a bow, doesn't make this game a shooter.

You guys dont know what your talking about, its funny really, comparing this game to oblivion shows you really have no clue.
I will admit the arms trailing behind where you look sucks but other than that this game is alright. The multiplayer was actually fun to play and a ton of people are playing it.

The pc version of this game was amazing, and far, far, far better than Oblivion. I'm hearing bad things about this port though, oh well. When your playing it just know that the good (real) version of this game with better graphics, a deeper leveling system, and extremely intuitive controls exists on the PC. Ports can suck sometimes.

Hi, I just tried like 5 min. so i will post later... - but its kind og cool the way you turn your head first, before moving your body.
Just wanna throw in a question here ? : May be gamers should try to enjoy games more ??, a little hard work here might pay of in the end.

The demo is worth downloading in my opinion, if you're a fan of RPG's then go download it now.
The singleplayer was fun, actually, very fun, I played through it twice (you can be a mage or warrior in the singleplayer demo, I did it once as each) it was short but sweet, I like how the world is more immersive than Oblivion, like kicking down barricades then attaching a rope to a bridge via a bow to swing across a broken bridge, was great. Combat is much better than Oblivion, different combos with the weapons and such, and magic seems to be better with Oblivion. I hate comparing it to Oblivion, but I have Oblivion and i'm gonna buy this so I might as well. I just hope the game world is better than oblivions, I was dissapointed with Oblivions grass and tree, that's all it was, I hope dark messiah has huge weird mushrooms and other crazy RPG stuff.

Forgot to comment about the multiplayer, here goes: it's nothing special, I found it fun though, because I was always a medic in BF2 and it was nice to be a Priest and heal teammates in this, and that's about it, but still, it's got multiplayer and I wouldn't have expected multiplayer at all in a game like this so it's an added bonus.
