Violent Saint's Row 2 co-op details discovered

CVG wrangled up some new and juicy Saint's Row 2 details from various magazine sources and things are definitely looking good for this sequel. First off, Saint's Row 2 promises a city 45% larger than the original in which you can drive motorcycles, jet-skis, boats and crash buildings with helicopters and planes. You'll also be able to take hostages, dual wield weapons and customize your character like never before. But the most exciting Saints Row 2 feature is co-op. Yup, yup, two-player online campaign co-op is in the works and it'll allow you and a buddy take to the streets for gangster warfare. Things are looking on the up for Saint's Row 2, but can we get some gameplay footage already? It's hard to take our minds off of GTAIV without any gameplay footage.

yeah, if its like crackdown, that would be perfect. Crackdown co op was really cool. I like that game!! Cant wait for Halo 4 so I can play the Crackdown 2 beta!!

I don't believe this co-op stuff t'ill they say "Online Co-op". I got conned with Kane & Lynch and that is not happening again.

I'm sorry, but no game should give a player the option of taking a "hostage". I'm getting tired of defending games when the industry comes up with tripe like this.

Splinter Cell allows you to take a guy hostage and even use him as a human shield.

you sound like a sad old grandma who doesnt know what shes talking about. Games should let you do whatever they want and ESPECIALLY things you cant, or wouldnt do in real life. The media is gonna cry regardless, if its not about taking hostages or flying into buildings itll be about car jacking or shooting someone with a shotgun in the middle of the street.

its fantasy, its entertainment, and GAMES should not have to deal with limitations cause theyre games.

@ 9, oh shit! it only had local co op??

I was gonna rent that with a friend so we could plauy co op over live. even though I hear that game is terrible!

online co op was the one thing it had going for it.

how dare they title it like that and not include online co op! those sneaky bastards.

I loved the first Saint's Row, the only videogame so gangsta that the thugs banged purple. I hope it has some kind of live vision camera support , so we can add our likenesses to the game. I wonder if it or GTA4 will come out first?

i loved the first game too. it was better than any gta game so far and they did that without using boats, planes, motorcycles, ect. the 2nd is going to raise the bar to games like gta. but the fist IS A FUCKING CLASSIC. i cant wait for the second one.

Saints Row 2 for the win over GTA4. I thought that SR actually brought innovation to the genre. While there have been tons of GTA clones, only one was worthy of being known as a competitor for GTA's crown... and you are looking at it's sequel.
