Well let's wait and see if The Club has good gameplay, shooting and nice graphics. They could make a good 007....

the driving parts in previous bond games were the lamest parts for me. I like driving games and all, but I would rather see bond in more spy/action scenes. I have burnout for driving.

That's not a rumor, it's actually official I say, as I just heard an activision representative from spain mention it in an interview. And it's coming at the end of 2008.

On an interview run by Blade(videogame program from Spanish radio station "Radio Sabadell" 94.6 FM) Mónica García (PR Manager of Activision España) spills the beans on James Bond 007, saying it's planned for the end of 2008.

I'd like to see a Mass Effect style Bond game. Obviously not in space or anything, but having to select text to espionage your way to victory. For instance, say you are supposed to kill an evil female assassin. You go up to her, and you go through the text trees ala Mass Effect, and one way you can shag her Austin Powers style, and then whack her (or not! Choices!!!) or another you just whack her. You get the general idea. Obviously the action elements would still be a part of it, and the driving, but that would actually give you the feeling that you were playing as bond in a bond movie, and not just playing bond in a bond arcade game..if that makes any sense...does it?
This is the kind of crap I think about when there is an inch of ice on the roads.

I had thought that Treyarch (Call of Duty 3 developer) was producing the game. This was according to their website and its help wanted section.

They should have Infinity Ward doing the new Bond. They have already come out and said the EA mishandled the license by just trying to make it a cash cow, so they need to put their best team on it. Infinity Ward is by the best first person team they have. Everything they touch is gold. Even after treyarch messed the Call of Duty franchise, Infinity Ward was able to bring it back and make it excited again so I think they would definately be able to bring 007 back in style.

Maybe they'll do it how EA did (not in final product quality sense, but how it was split for two teams)... where one team (ie. treyarch or infinity ward) does the shooter parts, and another team (ie. bizarre) does the driving parts. that'd be ok. but maybe bizarre would do everything just fine, can't judge them on shooters until i get my hands on The Club.
