Today, Activision announced that the not so white Guitar Hero III wireless Les Paul guitar controller will be available separately at retail stores starting in early 2008. No price or exact date were revealed in the press release, but you can bet your left leg that they'll try to get it onto store shelves rather quickly and at a price that will be semi-hefty compared to the bundle. But it's a small investment to be rockin' wireless and rockin' with a friend, because that's how real rockstars roll.

I love my Les Paul Wireless controller! I had to return my first one, and my second one had a looser neck. I used the "Hi-Fi" fix posted on Engadget. So far its been shredding great!!

I'd buy one, how cool would that be to jump around your living while jamming on Guitar Hero 3?

I bought two bundles, then sold the game for $50. Viola! 1 extra wireless guitar for $50.

"Today, EA announced"
I think that they mean Activision, not EA, EA is Rock Band's publisher.
Not that it matters, I will be picking up a second wireless controller ASAP. Right now one person being tethered to the xbox just isn't cool.

Because everyone needs a second broken guitar.
Seriously though, these things are terrible. The only button that works on mine now is the Xbox Guide button. Dunno how many times it'll get returned before I get a working one... ¬.¬

I aggree, the Les Paul guitar is a piece of crap. 14 days and the red key sticks and it won't stay connected to my xbox360. Not to mention the lousy loose neck fitting. The Rock Band guitar at least looks and feels more like the real thing.

I can't believe Jostiq and 360fanboy didn't run the GHIII story about it being pulled from shelves do to some copywrite issues with some song being to similar to another or some bullshit.
Was on one of the big news channels on Friday, you guys can look it up, I'm not really that interested but some of you might be.

Something must be going on because my neighbor has been unable to find another GHIII in any store to replace his defective Les Paul.

Is it just me - and my keen eyes for pointing out useless crap - or is that a picture of the PS3 Les Paul?

People may be having a hard time adjusing to the "smushy" feel of the strum bar, but put the Rock Band guitar up next to the Guitar Hero instrument. Rock Band's peripheral looks like a guitar. GH's peripheral looks like a toy guitar.
