Thanks to the USK German video games ratings board (
Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle or USK) we may have un-earthed proof that Capcom's
Lost Planet franchise is not dead.
Xbox-Archiv stumbled across an entry for a game called
Lost Planet Colonies over on the
USK website that was reviewed
this past July today. Instantly, thoughts of a
Lost Planet bug splattering sequel raced in our heads when we heard the news and after visiting the USK site, we were pleasantly surprised. The
Lost Planet Colonies entry lists the game to be a third person shooter (yes!) and solely on the Xbox 360 (double yes!) Adding more proof to the
Lost Planet sequel fire is the fact that the game is published by CEG Interactive Entertainment, a German
subsidiary of (you guessed it) Capcom. We've heard lots of whispers of a
Lost Planet sequel this year, but nothing has surfaced to be this concrete. Here's to
Lost Planet Colonies becoming a reality and being an amazing sequel.

I wish it was! What a disappointment. Got to the point where I was playing it for the sake of getting the achievements for each mission, and to fight the, admittedly, cool boss battles. Everything in between - blah.

so many other more interesting games capcom could announce like, a new powerstone, or hell powerstone 1 or 2 for the arcade. How about any of the streetfighters vs marvel games for the arcade? Or Okami or godhand for the 360?
Capcom Vs snk 2? Heck I'd even get excited to hear CannonSpike was hitting the arcade, something capcom please. Basically I think capcom has alot more to gain from Digital gamming than they do from retail games.

I hope you guys realize that the date listed there, being of the European format, reads November 7, 2007. NOT July 11, 2007.

Well I must one of the few who'd actually *like* to see a Lost Planet sequel.
And if the release date is this Friday they've kept that quiet!!
It's not a Greman localisation of Lost Planet or anything, is it?

I wish every game that came out on Xbox 360 was half as good as Lost Planet!

Bit harsh mate. Reading the european date style is second nature to us, but those in the US have the same trouble that we have with their date style.

Awesome. LP had a few flaws that prevented it from being great. Hopefully a sequel can resolve these issues. Also: please don't let this be a prequel, but a game that starts right where the original ended.

I bought Lost Planet after really enjoying the multiplayer demo then got to maybe the 3rd level, got killed by a giant...bug...thing. And haven't picked it up since.
Is the Online still getting enough players these days?

Lost Planet had some of the best gameplay and multiplayer maps of any title I've played on the 360. Too bad they paired those up with a ho-hum story and only four multiplayer game modes.

*sigh* I wish this is really true, but it's close to the supposed release date (Feb. 22 08) and I've yet to hear more news. This better really happen.
