According to Luke over at Bungie.net (and our own personal experiences) the Halloween exclusive Infection matchmaking playlist isn't playing nice when you're in a party. More specifically, going into matchmaking alone produces speedy results, but when you party up with a buddy or two then you'll have to wait a while ... a long while. A group of us sat in matchmaking for more than five minutes without getting paired up into a game before we quit and went our separate ways. Team Bungie is looking into the group slowness and we'll be sure to update you once we get an update from Bungie. Going solo produces quick Infection fun, but we're all about group zombie killing ... fix it Bungie, stat!

OH please! I just emailed a few guys about playing tonight when we're off work. Hope it's running smooth by then.
Please and Thanks Bungie!

I really don't think this is exclusive to this playlist. It is possible it is worse in this playlist but I have had similar problems in other playlists when in a party.

Jeez, you guys should be lucky you dont live in Australia on a 1.5mb connection, sometimes it takes like 30mins to find a match =(. And your complaining about 5mins?

Ach, you're not missing much. The playlist gets boring pretty quick, and no-one really uses any tactics so the games are over in 5 minutes. Got the spartan laser achievment though!

A little off topic but whatever.
Recently I was playing infection in the pit and some guy figured out a way to hide under the staircase. I ended up figuring out how and tried it out myself. It was a fairly good way to kill a lot of people, but is kinda cheap.
So would you consider it cheating even though Bungie put it in the game?
Please respond.

It's considered glitching, and that is considered cheating by most, usually a patch comes out to fix such things.
As for the matchmaking problems, me and a friend set there for nearly 10 minutes without getting into a game of infection and we just gave up and played something else.
oddly enough, i have noticed that you ONLY play with people of the same level, and i think that might have been part of the problem since me and my friend were different levels.

A friend and I were planning on playing tonight. I'm a higher level than he is. I hope they have this sorted out by then!

A little clarification to what i said before, We sat there for 10 minutes and couldn't find a game of infection, then went to team doubles and connected immediately, then played BTB afterwards and connected immediately too. It's definitely the playlist.
I don't know about anyone else, but i LOVE this playlist, i think EVERYONE should push to see if we can get this sort of thing permanently implimented into matchmaking.

I played in a party with one other person while on my lunch break. He was level 4 and I was 3, and it took no more than two minutes to find a game.

Difference between a 3 and a 4 is negligible, while a 3 and a 10 is totally different skills.

Didn't work for me. I wanted about 10 minutes and it found like 6 players max, but u need 8 minimum. So yeah, no infection fun for me. :O I'll go and try again. :S -> I hope they will make it a lil' longer and fix it.

I hate the guys that just commit suicide over and over (so they don't end up infected) to end up as the last man standing, it does nothing but make everyone else in the game mad at you...

I had a party of four and we sat for over 15 minutes with nothing happening, finally gave up and played slayer... just tried it again for about 8 minutes with a group of two finally gave up... multiplayer halo is only fun for me when I can play with my friends, so I vote this to be no good.

I had a party of 3 set to play and in an hour we managed to play 2 games...it was pretty ridiculous.
It's unfortunate because it is a really good game type. It's a whole lot of fun when one friend is a human and the other 2 are zombies, so they screen cheat to see where he's hiding.....

It would be awesome if this led to the playlist being around for like a week longer than planned. :) Or at least through the weekend.

I was HUGELY disappointed with the party problems. It really spoiled things for me. I ended up playing on my own until I was the same level as my mate. We had a bit more success when we were both Lvl 4's and then partied up but after a couple of games he went up to 5 and we had the same problem all over again.
The main thing I was looking forward to was having a game with a few mates.

Did it ever start working? I couldn't get it to work with a party of 2 at about 6 CST. I did however find out I'm really bad with both the shotgun AND the plasma sword.
Hey #7, somebody did that in an infection game lastnight, was the last man standing of course and as people kept trying to get under the stairs, he racked up about a dozen kills, lol, punkazz

It was broken the entire time. Hopefully Bungie will step up and give us another chance with this playlist or some other treat to make up for this complete failure of a Halloween surprise.
