In an effort to bring in the youth and parent markets, Microsoft just announced plans for releasing brand new content from Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. to the Xbox Live Marketplace as well as announcing two new children's based XBLA games.Starting today, you'll be able to get 50+ episodes of Warner Bros'. "Looney Tunes" via the (US only) Video Marketplace. The episodes included feature the standard "Looney Tunes" greatness and a few episodes are even available in Spanish (double w00t!). Nickelodeon made the announcement that, starting today, exclusive content from their show "The Backyardigans" and episodes of "Blue's Clues" and "iCarly" will be available for purchase off the Video Marketplace. Finally, two new XBLA games were also revealed today both capitalizing on the popularity of children's animated figures. SHREK-N-ROLL and SpongeBob SquarePants: Underpants Slam will hit the Arcade soon'ish.
Oh, and don't worry about us fanboys. We will not be blowing all our cash on television episode downloads this week, because we so outgrew our obsession with "Blue's Clues" like ... totally months ago. Seriously, we don't like that adorable and laughable blue dog at all. Really ...

Well i hope they're priced for kids too, but goodness knows why you'd want to buy stuff that's on telly 2-3 times a day.

Ugh, family content sucks. Full of corny adverts where family's are over-dosing on morphine.REAL parents avoid games and REAL kids actually watch violent stuff.

Sponge Bob and Shrek? Damn it...why can't they put out a XBLA game that people actually want...like Avatar...that would be a step in the right direction...

This just encourages more little kids to be on XBL, which is a bad thing. Especially when they are in matchmaking.

Well, assuming kids of the age group that would play this would even have Live to use. I imagine these games would appeal more to the youngest set, which are still likely younger than the kids who might annoy people in something like Halo 3. Not all kids I've played with are bad, though.
Also, Shrek and Spongebob are incredibly popular, so I don't think it's a bad decision or something no one would play. Shrek in particular. Isn't 360 getting its own retail Avatar game?
