I have always been interested in this game. It looks very polished from the videos and more importantly, it looks like fun.
Silicon Knights is a competent development team so I am sure this will be a AAA title.
Can't wait! :)

hmm...seems that the control scheme is something that might take some time to master. Maybe EA will buy them too. Too Madden Effect 09 anyone?

I loved the game from the first trailer I saw and every thing I keep seeing is getting better and better.

Forever or 8 plus years I believe. Pick your poison.

Some portions of it are definitely more impressive than Oblivion, I think people don't remember some of that title's inconsistencies and oddities, particularly in terms of animation.
I'm looking forward to it. You have to remember the last batch of impressions were incredibly negative... the fact that these are mostly positive is a huge turn around and there's still a decent amount of time left to work on the game. I hope the remaining iffy things get worked out.
As for the years spent on it, given that they've completed a couple of other games while this game was in progress I have to imagine it wasn't always their number one concern. I'm sure there's tons of games that if we were to count concept to completion would have a way longer development time than we're aware of.

i do not understand this?
this game does not look fun?
it just looks like that game you played on a demo disk in the ps1 days
bargain bin all the way
these kinda game mechanics are too played out
just adding high levels of customization seems like band-aid for a bullet wound to breath life back into these 3rd person hack and slashers we have seen too many times before
perhaps if the game had a bad ass story it may be salvageable
but so far i am yet to see any redeeming traits

@ Luke
That must have been one kick ass PS1.
On a more serious note, I remember hearing that the story was a futuristic take on Norse legends.

Umm... cool.
So why doesn't Team Fortress 2 have rumble? It feels really strange mowing down soldiers with a minigun and not have your controller rumble in your hands. Almost ruins it.

This is why I originally bought the 360. Can't wait. And yeah Silicon Knights have been wanting to make this game since they late 90s and finally began the project in 2000.

Every time I see this game I keep thinking its trying to emulate Devil May Cry. The combat looks ok but DMC gameplay looks alot more fun to play.
I loved Eternal Darkness and thats one of the few things keeping me interested in this game.

All previews are positive, even for the worst games. No website/magazine will preview a game and say "To be honest, we weren't impressed. It's not much."
Even for the horrible games they'll give a 4 to during the review. So previews mean nothing.

Oblivion is a very ugly game, artisticly that is, with exception from the outdoor environments.

Ugh, why do some developers feel the need to make sure 90% of the screen is black at all times in next generation games? I can't stand the overly exaggerated contrast levels in this trailer.
