Violence and games tend to be uttered in the same breath all the time, and gamers like us tend to shake it off. That being said, this commercial for TimeShift is a little disturbing. The commercial depicts a convenience store robbery that is eventually thwarted by the time suit wearing hero of TimeShift. Maybe it's just because it seems entirely out of context compared to what we've seen of the game, or because it's live action, but the commercial is strangely unsettling. Of course, the idea is to show off the possibilities of time powers, but using them to kill some two-bit thugs seems a little excessive. Still, that's beside the point we suppose, as we're sure the premise will intrigue many viewers, even if the commercial uses hardly any actual game footage at all (bonus points if you can spot it).
TimeShift, in all its 4th-dimension-bending, hyper-violent glory, hits the Xbox 360 next month.
Lol his suit looked like it would "detach" at any moment like the Halo 3 korean video. I agree they should stick to CG or in-game footage, but whatever we see violence in movies all the time.
He looks like a moto gp racer mixed with samus aran. I think that this commercial is pretty much stupid. I don't think you'll be fighting robbers in a convenience store, but dodging the shotgun blasts was enjoyable to watch.

The part where the timeshifty copper agent guy is dodging the shotgun bullets is pretty neat. It would've been nice if Judge Reinhold threw coffee at the last robber though, effectively saving the day.
Gordon Brown was considering banning video games from teens because he thinks it makes us perform violent acts. I've been subject to violence all my life through TV, cinema and video games and the most violence I've ever been involved in is squashing insects and the odd little argument.
i played the demo, and it needs a lot of help to compete this fall. it felt alot like FEAR minus everything cool about FEAR with a bunch of debris everywhere.
Unless you collect FPSs, save your money for COD 4, Halo 3 and the Orange Box.
This game is exactly what halflife orangebox will be like excluding team fortress 2/portal and minus the time control. Its made by the same guys and its running on the same engine. This game is good just like halflife but like halflife, has some framerate issues in my opinion.
This comercial was great. The point was for the consumer to incorperate what they could do with day to day issues with cool time powers. Now they should make a comercial about the time guy getting pulled over and ticketed and make it a big defying the law thing.Heh.
um, Half-Life 2 was actually a great game and the animation on your character was great as well.
the melee animation and reloading animation on Time Shift was really horrible. Slowing down time is more like FEAR, taking the weapon out from enemies hands is much lamer than the video. I walk up to an enemy in Time mode and press x to take his weapon. Lame.
where's the reversal gunshot move to the chin?
The enemy chatter was also too much and again it reminded me of FEAR. "He's trying to Flank!" i've heard that in both games i shit you not.
It needs help. Too many great shooters coming out this fall. I gotta give the cut on Time Shift tho. regardless of sharing the same engine with Half-Life 2, they didn't put it to great use.
i'll wait for reviews to say how mediocre the game is. sorry if shat on anyone's expectation!
Can someone please tell me if the Clerk is a Man or Woman? This is what really disturbed me about the video, Dude looks like a Lady, I think. I think the "Person" may want to get some male hormone's to help with his condition, if it is a man.
