We can hear the classic conversation now. "Can I have some BioShock? Pleeeease!" "Not until you've finished your Orange Box." "Aw, nuts!"
In an interview with CVG, Valve's Gabe Newell made it known that BioShock has been officially banned from the Valve offices. Is it part of some company policy that employees must not touch a competitors product? Nope, BioShock was banned in order to assure that the team properly finishes up work on The Orange Box. In Newell's words: "We had to ban BioShock from our offices," adding, "Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that's our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of BioShock." Wow. We can tell you right now, BioShock is definitely a danger to anyone's productivity, so we understand the decision. Hang in there Valve! We know you can do it, and trust us, BioShock is worth it.

I got an achievement last night for harvasting all (except 2 from the beginning)the little ones. I was really at ends with myself for a long time deciding if i wanted to save or harvast them. I wanted to see what happens if I harvasted the little ones. After seeing the little ones alive and well at their home, I really felt bad for harvasting them. I will play it again from the beginning a sort of "redemption" time for me.

yuppy - YES. I didn't even plan on getting it until I played the demo, it interested me enough to pick up the full copy and it's turned out to be one of the best games I've ever played.
I went home today at lunch, had some time to kill, thought I would play it for 20 minutes or so before I went back to work. Yeah, I was an hour late getting back.

Yeah, BioShock WAS a danger to my productivity, until I reached the Proving Grounds and the game started to freeze for a second at a time. Now I can't finish it because it plays like shit.

Just bought this today. At first, I was in the "It has no multiplayer? Fuck that then." group, but the demo turned that around for me.
I'm glad with my purchase.

Only an idiot would not buy a good game just because it lacks multiplayer..Games aren't JUST about that contrary to what some may think.

I'm a proud halo fanboy, so I only rented it since I wouldn't play it after Sep 25th. But yes, it's definitely worth buying it's one of the best games of the year.

I must be missing something because I don't really think it's all that great. It's ok, but I'm definately not as impressed as I was when Half Life 2 came out. I got kinda bored with it during the medical pavillion level and never went back to play again. I ended up sending mine back to gameflay fairly soon. Maybe it's just me?

I rented Bioshock and finished it within 17-20 hours or so. Great game with easy Achievements if you keep at it!
Because of the direct narrative storyline and a relatively quick run-through I wouldn't reccomend it as a purchase to gamers at the full $60 pricetag, but it's a no-brainer when the price drops twenty bucks. Honestly multiplayer WOULD have given this title longer legs, but that's another point.
I researched everything and saved all of the Little Sisters, -If you save them all and don't harvest, you get a 140 Achievement boost:)

OH...one small Bioshock gripe: to those that have finished the game, this is to you: the 'change' towards the end of the game was a sweet idea, but the mission relating to it was a drag. Message me on Live if you wanna talk about it! :)

"I got kinda bored with it during the medical pavillion level"
That's really the first level. There's the short intro level right before you get to the medical pavilion. But basically you just said you quit on the first level. Hell, I'll give you the intro level and say you quit on the second level. Do you have ADD? I'm not sure how someone can be bored of a game on the second level.

They probably don't want to play because they'll end up pissed off. They stole the gravity gun, turets, security bots. I thought I was playing halflife 3 except it was under water.
Both games are awesome though and left me with that same jumpy/tense feeling.

Yes, it is the productivity anti-christ.... I bought it last thursday and didn't work at all on friday, saturday, and then beat it sunday afternoon with an overwhelming sense that I needed to play catchup on my projects. It's fun though, and actually I might play through it again, perhaps on super easy ROFL! I played through on hard.

I can't play it around my 2-year-old, which means that I'm lucky to get in two hours after her bedtime (most nights one, some nights, *none*!). The wait is actually causing physical symptoms of distress -- I may give myself an ulcer *not* playing BioShock.
Seriously, it's a good game.

About the issue with the game freezing every second or so: I hit this in the middle of the "Fort Frolic" quests. After trying a few things with the console to no avail, I just continued to play in spite of it. Eventually, the issue went away on its own. I expect that a patch is coming shortly to address this...
