Oops, it sounds like UK retailer HMV made a mistake and caused quite the fanboy frenzy this weekend. Yesterday, HMV started taking pre-orders for a yet to be announced (or even confirmed) Xbox 360 version of MGS 4, which in turn caused a lot of fanboy arguing and excitement that a retailer was actually acknowledging the game's existence on the 360. But fanboys, it was all a mistake. This morning GamesIndustry.biz caught up with the UK retailer to talk about the MGS 4 listing when HMV admitted that the pre-order page was created in error saying that,"In his enthusiasm, one of our online games team indicated that hmv.co.uk would start taking pre-orders for MGS4 on Xbox 360, when, in fact, he simply meant to ask customers if they wished to receive an alert in the event of this title one day coming out on this platform."
So, there you have it. It was a simple admin mistake and now we know that the retailer didn't have any insider's information. We guess it's time to restart our countdown clock and wait patiently until the next "MGS 4 is so headed to the 360" rumor surfaces. We'll give it another two days.

Go figure haha, yeah I agree a few more days another rumor will come up, though I really don't give a shit about this game it would be nice to take the exclusivity of it from PS3, and I'm sure I'd end up buying it just to see what the big deal is eventually.

I don't get what is so good about that game. First off he says it's a tactical shooter right... but instead of doing all that stupid grabbing croutch stuff why not just pull a gun with a silencer and shoot them. There were two cans at one point he could have hid under but nooo he had to pull a can out of his ass and put it over him, man that was probably the stupidest part. Then he does a barrel roll over two soldiers... okay. Gets out of it and throws up. Well guess what to get better in this game all you need to do is get out a men's magazine!!! lol. Then later it turns into just action thats boring and unoriginal. Ps3 fanboys can keep this game, I don't get why so many people want this game on 360. It's garbage. Btw that was from some trailer.

I totally agree. This is HMV and probably sony desperately trying to hide the fact that MGS4 is a timed exclusive.
I mean damn NO ONE at Konami has come right out and said that MGS4 is only going to be for the ps3.
And the more time that passes by without any solid word from a Konami exec as to whats really the deal the more I believe that MGS4 will be on the 360 next year.

Sounds like someone knows something we don't. I think that HMVs "mistake" was posting the release date before Konami announced it. If it had been a simple mistake wouldn't it have had the PS3 release date?

its typical for 360 fanboys to start bitching about a game's problems when it is announced they arent getting it.
@3: he's in a damn warzone, if he shoots a couple of guys and they call their HQ on the radio, he's completely fucked.
the rumors that MGS4 is coming on 360 is the proof more people absolutely love it than halo, i have not once seen a guy saying halo 3 is coming to ps3. i look on youtube, quite a few fake trailers of it, including a video of the trailer that came out years ago that didnt show anything about MGS4 that the uploader called the 360 trailer of MGS4.
