Sessler: Don't judge unfinished Assassin's Creed
During Microsoft's E3 press conference, Ubisoft decided to demo their golden child Assassin's Creed, but things did not go as smoothly as they had hoped. You see, the demo was a tad buggy and suffered from bad collision detection, floating bodies and a somewhat questionable framerate. And everyone noticed. Assassin's Creed has suffered some negative press these past few days as some gamers have been bashing the on-stage demo and the game.
Enter G4 TV's Adam Sessler who climbed atop his soap box to tell gamers that we have no right to judge the game based on the bugs, because it just isn't finished. Sessler makes a great argument stating that video games are one of the only artistic mediums in which the artists allow fans to preview their work before it's complete. Bugs are normal in unfinished products, it's as simple as that. And we have to agree. Let's just take a deep breath and ignore Assassin's floating bodies. See, we bet you feel better already.

Well I've only heard great things. Typical gamers whining about every little problem, even tho they kno it's not a final build.
Can't wait 4 this game

I agree. If the bugs are still there after release THEN judge.

i think it looks amazing as-is. but collision errors really do tick me off- i'm sure the bodies will properly fall to the ground in the final game.

I would have to agree with Adam Sessler 100%. Criticism of unfinished code will only lead to developers fearing backlash from gamers. I've already heard a ton of people criticizing the game already because of the flying bodies and collision detection. Some even go as far to say they are no longer interested in the game. All I can say to them is WTF guys! At least wait till the game is finished before you judge it.

I'm a visual artist and I know all too well not to judge a painting by it's underpainting roughs. Give everything a chance you guys! It seems like we are on this site specifically; Asassin's Creed is one game that can stand on-par or higher on my wishlist this year than even Halo 3. That should say a lot; but i'm bieng realistic and I know not to over-want or to prejudge until I play the game for myself.
Peace

It really isn't surprising that people would bitch about bugs in an incomplete game. Their argument would be "Well if they're going to show it off it shouldn't be buggy!" but then they would complain that it wasn't shown because it was still being debugged. I'm sure it's the same kids who bitch about having to spend more than 400pts on the marketplace for things, the same kids who bitched about the 360 not having HDMI, a large HDD, and a black version and then to bitched when MS released the Elite, the same kids who were completely cool with paying $1 for Guitar Hero songs then totally flipped out when they had to pay $2 instead. It's embarrassing.

What? It was almost perfect throughout! The only time it wasn't was when one of the characters floated in mid-air instead of falling off a roof! The game isn't out until November, I doubt there'll be many or any problems like this when the game goes on sale then.

I thought the demo was awsome. So it was just a glitch, people should calm down because they said there in the process of getting bugs fixed. So people clam down!

DeadPlasmaCell, why do you say kids? From my experience adults are much more vocal about these things than adults.

I agree with everyone here, including *in arnold voice* ADAM SEXLER [/Arnold voice]
What I want to know is where are these cock knockers that are saying this game is bad, or that it's gonna suck, when I saw all of the buggy stuff happening in the demos I didn't think bout it except to think that "the game isn't finished".
I know this game is gonna own I can't wait to savagely murder the people of Jerusalem!!!!

He's right, I try to never pass judgement on a game before its done, but sometimes it happens. I mean look at Too Human, did you see that video they put up on the marketplace? What a piece of shit. There was no sound in spots, animations were terrible. It was just a cinematic but still, if the lead at Silicon Knights whines because people are criticizing their game too harshly, thats because its a load of crap! Fix it! I still have hopes for Too Human, but really, its not THAT hard to do it right.
Oh, but yeah, Assassins Creed will be good. Bugs can be fixed!
.....I still hate G4 though.
