Paul Wall is a cornball assed rapper. Nothing but materialistic/mysogynistic content in his music. Underground is where it's at. Forget mainstream music.
On top of that Madden is soooo overrated.

I can totally understand that stance on hating rap. It is easy to see why people are turned off by it. I love Hip-Hop myself. There are some truly talented rappers out there, just not that shit on MTV or the radio. If you ever want to hear intelligent Hip-Hop that touches on real issues then I suggest you check out The Roots, Talib Kweli (new album next month), Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch ("Desire" released on Tuesday), K-OS, Immortal Technique....sorry I know this is a game thread just had to add that.

I understand there are rappers who don't just dress up stupidly and sing about money, women and violence but about issues that are real to them (and most likely others). I just personally don't like the style but I can respect proper rappers.

Yeah WRONG! Paul Wall was underground 5 years before he decided to go mainstream. Even then he doesn't rap all about grills, money and jewelery. Do some background probably you'll find he's a decent guy....
@enzo
Probably you do need to. Paul Wall has a ton of underground like every rap artist out today. And guess what their underground is where their lyrics shine. Mainstream they feed MTV and what the average person wants for album sales.
It's messed up but that's the way the industry is you can't go mainstream anymore rapping about serious things. Rap is mainly used for club music and you get more sales. So put your serious music underground and "golds in my mouth" in the club.
And if you can't accept that with music you can't accept capitalism...

@matt, first off I doubt u listen to anything other than Jazz or some electronic shit. Rap and Hip Hop is lyrically creatism on a whole diffrent level. There are under-par rappers out there just like there are shitty rock bands and girls who can't sing too, but they still manage to sell albums and go platinum. why? coz everyoenhas a diffrent taste and there will always be a few people who like to hear what you have to say however stupid it may sound.
@ Spitkicker. I am in tune with what you are trying to say, but to give balance to your argument, there really aren't any wack rappers so to speak in the true sense of the word. What I mean by that is every rapper you mentioned is on point in ther lyrically skills and sharp on punch lines , i would listen to them driving in the car, at home just chilling, or before I go flying but.....when i'm out with buddies and drinking, trying to wild out... ain't no way i want the roots coming on in the club...I'd rather Jeezy , Jim jones or Joc. there are allso rappers that can switch styles and be both wack and pointless and also very creative...eg JayZ. lil wayne, Juelz.
You can't judge a style of art when u have no clue of what its about. Most of these guys have been in the projects all their live and once they get this money thats all they care about, who r we to judge and say they sing or rap crappy?or that all they talk about is diamond, cars and hoes, so what? therein lies their style of art. every painter has their style, from the renniansance period to the mona lisa n stuff, you can't even compare. we all know paris hilton can't sing for shit, or ashlee simpson either but aren't they acceoted? I am tierd of people bashing artists that they are wack, there is a simple solution to the whole situation, tune out.
Paul wall is agood rapper...I said so! he will be couting his millions , selllin million dollar grillz while you hide behing ur c and write blogs about how wack he is...lol..madden..here I come! ice man paul wall...what it does?

white people should never wear grills... ever.
actually, now that i think about it, no one should.
If you really need to show off your "bling" that badly, get a big ol' diamond dermally anchored in the middle of your forehead, it would look about 1000 times less tacky.

LOL. Man your name alone gives you no credibility when it comes to hip-hop. Sorry man Paul Wall is still garbage.
@Beu
I understand your arguement. I know how club shit works, but personally I don't go to many clubs to listen to music. I am an MC myself who is deeply in tune to underground hip-hop. I can say that they glorify violence and ignorance. They do nothing to educate people on how to escape from the projects as you say, instead it is the same cycle over and over. To be honest, just because they sell records doesn't mean shit. There is this thing called marketing. Ever hear of Payola? SONY knows all about it. When we have Clear Channel owning just about every radio station in the U.S. then we have a serious problem. I agree everybody has their own style, and I am not knocking their hustle...
Jeezy? Juelz? Jim Jones? LOL. You're kidding right? These dudes are garbage. Hide behind what? Homie I am on the mic all the time. I will spit rings around these clowns stop riding their dicks because they sold some albums. Damn MTV has got you people fucking brainwashed. Again though, to each their own.
