Even though SEGA hasn't confirmed or denied online play (we're praying it does), it sounds like the 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will be the uber edition. Things are looking great for Virtua Fighter fanboys.

I'm not a huge fan of the fighting genre, so I'll probably only buy one fighting game throughout the life of the 360. At this point, I'm glad I waited for this instead of buying DOA 4.

So I guess, for now, developers can't really do better on either console. It's just about which version comes out later that depends on the better graphics.

Not necessarily. I think its a matter of how easy is it to tweak. Plus, I think Sega likes MS a bit more than Sony at this point. It was basically Sony that put Sega out of the hardware business with the hype/lying about the PS2 that knocked the Dreamcast out for the count, so they may be a bit more motivated to, while not outright saying it, being a little pro-360 biased.

No matter how pretty they make it, this game will flop without online play. The 360's strongest feature is online play; a developer would be foolish not to take advantage of that.

The best news is that a new arcade stick is coming out. The DOA stick is no longer being sold (I believe) and goes for a premium on eBay.

No surprise here.
Xbox 360 is a more powerful videogame machine than the Playstation 3.
Xbox 360 has a more advanced Graphics Processing Unit.
Xbox 360 has a CPU structure based on the brand-new, very efficient, easy to use Multi-Core technology, giving the CPU of the Xbox 360 six threads to work with and three 3.2Ghz processors.
PS3 has a CPU structure based on the outdated, inefficient, difficult to use Parallel processing technology, giving the CPU of the PS3 only two threads to work with and only one 3.2Ghz processor.
Xbox 360 has superior RAM in several ways:
Xbox 360 has 512MB of Unified RAM that is much more efficient and flexible than the Non-Unified RAM used in the PS3. Developers can use the 512MB of RAM in any way they want on the Xbox 360. But the PS3 CPU has access to no more than 256MB of RAM at a time.
The Xbox 360 Operating System is designed in a much more efficient way than the PS3 Operating System. The Xbox 360 OS consumes only 32MB of RAM, leaving 480MB of RAM to be used for other purposes. The Playstation 3 OS wastes RAM by consuming 96MB of RAM, leaving only 416MB of RAM to be used for other purposes.
Xbox 360 has 10MB of extremely efficient eDRAM. Playstation 3 has no similar type of RAM.
Xbox 360 transfers data at 16MB per second, while PS3 only transfers data at 9MB per second. This is the reason why load times are always faster in Xbox 360 games, unless the PS3 hard drive assists in the load times, which rarely occurs.
The list goes on and on in terms of technical ways the Xbox 360 is superior to the PS3 in terms of videogame graphic related performance.
PS3 might be able to do more Floating Point math calculations, but as people often point out, the fact is that Floating Point math calculations are something used by software programs like Spreadsheets and Accounting software. Videogames don't use Floating Point math calculations for graphic performance.
In reality, the performance we see with our eyes and experience with gameplay is what matters the most. Xbox 360 games look better than Playstation 3 games, and they play better than Playstation 3 games. That's what is most important.
Being able to play all the third-party games online while talking with a headset is really fun on the Xbox 360. It really sucks that most PS3 third-party games don't let that happen. Call of Duty 3 and F.E.A.R. on the Xbox 360 are fun to play because you get to talk online and the graphics are cool! But the Playstation 3 versions of those games don’t let you talk online, and they have very choppy framerates, and they don’t have a controller that rumbles. A lot of PS3 games don't even let you play online at all, even though the Xbox 360 versions do. And Xbox 360 has a controller that rumbles and vibrates.
All of that adds up and makes the Xbox 360 so much better. Xbox 360 already has a much better library of games, and it will stay that way.
Games made with the Xbox 360 in mind always end up better on the Xbox 360. The PS3 versions just aren't as good. PS3 fanboys often try to say that the reason why the PS3 versions of games aren't as good is because they were designed with the Xbox 360 in mind and then ported to the PS3.
The advantage goes to Xbox 360 because almost all games are made with the Xbox 360 in mind. Xbox 360 is the top-selling system, and it's the easiest to make games for. Very few games are made with the PS3 in mind. But Virtua Fighter 5 is one of those games that was made primarily for the PS3, and then ported to the Xbox 360.
Virtua Fighter 5 makes it 100% clear that games designed for the PS3 and then ported to Xbox 360 end up better on the Xbox 360!
I can't wait to play the BEST version of Virtua Fighter 5 on the Xbox 360!

@4 RazorElite,
Xbox 360 versions of the games almost always end up better than the PS3 versions.
"When" a game comes out has virtually nothing to do with the quality of the game.
If you want EXCELLENT proof of this, just look at games like F.E.A.R., Splinter Cell: Double Agent, MLB 2K7, and even similar launch games like the Ridge Racer games. The Xbox 360 games end up with better graphics and higher ratings.
F.E.A.R. is the best example. F.E.A.R. was released for the PC and Xbox 360 in November of 2006, and it won lots of awards for great gameplay and awesome graphics. But the Playstation 3 version of F.E.A.R. was released six months later, and yet it is an absolutely ugly mess!
The PS3 version of F.E.A.R. is a perfect symbolism of all the framerate problems that PS3 games have and are now known for. The framerate often drops below 20 frames per second, and it goes into slow motion at times!
You can read about how crappy F.E.A.R. on the PS3 is here at the review done by 1up: http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3158930

Wow, if you truly believed the 360 was better than the PS3 you could've said so in your own words instead of copy/pasting a prepared critique that's already been posted on the blogs a billion times. Most of the facts you use are either questionable and/or interpretable in different way. For instance:
1. We do not know with certainty whether the 360 has a better GPU than the PS3, since Sony /Nvidia haven't released many details on the RSX's capabilities and there hasn't been a way to do benchmark tests on it. It's been mostly assumed the 360 has a better GPU since it's created by ATI, which has created more powerful graphics cards than Nvidia in the past (although Nvidia has had better video card drivers).
2. You may claim floating Point math calculations aren't important in games, but it's very important in physics calculations in games. In that regard, the PS3 has the advantage in creating a more realistic gaming world than the 360.
I could go-on arguing against some of your points and re-interpreting others, but I'm too lazy to do that lol. I think I've said enough here.

Well with an extra 6 months of dev time on an already finished game what else were they going to do make a online mode?
Thats sarcasm, well now that SoulCaliber is coming to the 360 I'll think I'll go with that.

I agree with what TheGuy says.
Who are you to point out bullet points you claim as fact?
The truth of the matter is, and I don't care about specs, in the long run both machines are damn near close and will produce similar looking games.
The only difference is in the services and features they provide.
I know this is www.xbox360fanboy.com, but come on. We don't need to go around throwing your own facts like we're Peter Moore.

Here is a great article that explains the current situation about the Xbox 360, and how it has been solved. It also recommends good advice for insurance. Here it is:
Here is a modified version of the long article I wrote before. I have divided the information into three sections so it can be read easily.
****** Important Situation Information Part 1*******
The statistics are actually very clear that the overall defect ratio for worldwide sales is in the margin of 3–5%, which is exactly where it should be. The defect ratios really were higher than 3–5% in certain parts of the country, which is why it seems much worse in certain parts of the country or certain stores. Once you know all of the facts you will easily understand why that is.
The Xbox 360 and the PS2 actually have nearly identical defect rates of 3–5%. Over 100 million PS2 systems have been sold, and there have been over 5 million PS2 systems that have had defects. That is a LOT of defective PS2 systems, but in reality that is pretty good defect ratio.
It's the same thing with the Xbox 360. There are 13 million Xbox 360 systems out there, and about 11.5 million of them have been sold to consumers. 3–5% of 11.5 million is a LOT of systems. 3–5% of 11.5 million means that about 500,000 systems out there were defective. But, we need to remember that 5% is actually a reasonably good number for a defect ratio.
With the Xbox 360 the situation is considerably different than the PS2 because of the way the products were distributed. The defect ratio "seems" considerably higher in certain parts of the country because IT IS considerably higher in certain parts of the country!
The reason the defect ratio is considerably higher in certain parts of the world is because the Xbox 360 systems were built in three different factories. One of the factories constructed FAR more defective units than the others. The "batches" of systems shipped to certain parts of the world from that particular factory had a MUCH HIGHER defect ratio.
So, the reason why an EB store in one part of the country would experience a 30% defect ratio, while stores in other parts of the country would experience standard defect ratios of only 3–5% or less would be because the units are shipped in batches from the individual factories. In other words, that one particular factory was known for producing "batches" of units with a higher defect ratio, and those batches were not evenly distributed; they were targeted toward specific geographic regions and individual stores in particular. This means that in the past a store in place #1 might have had a 30% defect ratio, while a store in place #2 might have had a defect ratio of less than 1%.
Microsoft recently closed that particular factory with a higher than average defect ratio. This is an excellent solution, because it COMPLETELY solves the problem.
****** Important Situation Information Part 2*******
Microsoft also did a very nice job of extending the warranties of all Xbox 360 systems made in the year 2005 by an additional year. The Xbox 360 experienced its largest number of defective units with the systems produced in the year 2005, and that is why Microsoft extended the warranty by such a long time. Microsoft really did a nice job with that situation. Many people who paid for repairs were given 100% refunds, and Microsoft accepted responsibility.
At this point in time, Microsoft recently made an improvement to the Xbox 360 systems being sent back to consumers when consumers experience a problem with their system and send it to Microsoft. Microsoft will give consumers a type of improved Xbox 360 with additional fans on the inside, which helps improve the ventilation. This makes sense because most of the defects occur as a result of overheating due to poor ventilation.
If you currently have an Xbox 360 or any other system placed in a tight area that is poorly ventilated, that is when you might want to consider buying one of those Fan accessories for the system, in order to improve ventilation and keep the system cooler.
Overall, the situation with the Xbox 360 has been improved in an excellent way. The way Microsoft recently closed the factory that produced virtually all of the defective units essentially solved the problem. Microsoft also started using newer DVD players that produce less heat and generate less noise.
It has actually never been a better time to buy an Xbox 360 than now. Nevertheless, I think it's always a good idea for people to buy an insurance policy on any and every piece of electronics they purchase, including all of their videogame systems.
****** Important Situation Information Part 3*******
*********Important Insurance Information**********
People who already own an Xbox 360 should know that Microsoft now has a policy in place where you can spend just $24.95 for an additional year of insurance added to your warranty and $49.90 for two additional years of additional insurance added to your warranty. As long as your system is still covered under its original warranty or an extended insurance policy, you are eligible to purchase new insurance policies. Theoretically this means your system could be covered under insurance policies forever. This is a cool type of policy to take advantage of.
I personally think it is a good idea to purchase insurance one year at a time with this particular insurance policy Microsoft offers. You can purchase these insurance policies at 1–800–4MY–XBOX. If you haven't already purchased insurance, and you are close to the end of your one–year warranty, it would probably be a good idea to do so. Personally, I think people should buy insurance policies like that to begin with.

Yo ninegauger,
Buddy, we aren't "even" with the PS3, we are INFINITELY ahead of them!!!!!!!!!
The Xbox 360 version of Oblivion is still rated higher than the PS3 version.
Only the Xbox 360 version has access to all of the downloadable content. That Shivering Isles expansion adds 30 hours of extra gameplay. You can't play that on PS3.
Playing the regular version of Oblivion on PS3 still isn't as fun, because you don't have access to the cool stuff like Horse Armor that Xbox 360 gave us.
Graphically, the outdoor environments look better on the PS3, not because of the PS3 hardware, but because the software engineers took the time to update the design of the shaders. This is something that is being applied to the Xbox 360 and PC versions, which means the graphic advantage of the PS3 in the outdoor environment is essentially gone--they can be considered on equal ground outdoors.
Graphically, the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion still has the graphic advantage over the PS3 when it comes to the dungeons, because Xbox 360 has sharper texture quality and better lighting.
It's also worth remembering that the PS3 version of Oblivion has a TON of glitches in the game. It literally lets you walk upside down and through walls.
All I can say is that the editor of 1up that reviewed Oblivion said that he had played it for over 200 hours on the different systems, and he said that if you had access to an Xbox 360, a PC, and a Playstation 3, the version that was least desirable was the Playstation 3 version.
So, I think we are WAY ahead when it comes to games, even Oblivion. That's why the Xbox 360 version is rated higher.
