As reported earlier, with the new Crackdown update being rolled out some players have been experiencing a total game reset, wiping out all game saves. Well, the dev team over at Realtime Worlds has acknowledged the problem and has a temporary workaround until they get things permanently fixed. And, in brief, this is their quick fix. When you pop in Crackdown download the auto update, start a single player campaign, once loaded choose the quit option, and either exit to the dash or restart your console. Now, you should have no weird progress deletion and can download the other free or paid content. See, not so hard. Realtime Worlds is looking into a fix and will notify everyone when they have a permanent solution to the update problem. Happy gaming.

Or, you know.
Keys to the City. Not like all your progress can't just instantly come back to you.

Or you know, Keys to the City prevents you from getting any Achievements at all. And I didnt even buy the damn content, jus joined a friends game who had it. But because I did CoOp before loading a single player game, im screwed.

I was lucky enough that I played single player once or twice before ever playing coop. So, I did the fix without even knowing about it.
I did play with TWO friends yesterday who did not play single player before joining my game. Both of them lost their save files. The one guy had not bought the premium pack yet and of course won't now. He doesn't want to go after the new achievements with a gimped guy.

Heh. Reminds me of when Sony sent out free demo discs to PlayStation Underground members, and the damn things ended up deleting ALL saves on memory cards.
I was one of the unfortunate souls who lost the entire contents of my memory card to the demo of Viewtiful Joe (the real culprit on the disc) and the real bummer was that I was about a day away from finishing GTA:SA completely.
Sony placated me by sending me a free copy of Jak & Dexter, which I sold.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.
I just blew $10 (800 points) on this update and my saved game is wiped out.
NO THANKS.
This is absurd. All the hours and hours I put into collecting Agility Orbs... I had only *EIGHT* left to go and now I have to I have to start all over from scratch?
I want my progress back. This is unacceptable.
Either that or I want the full price of the game and the new addon refunded to me.
I am so unbelievably angry right now.
HOURS... GONE. Makes me never want to play the game again.

It does suck to lose all your progress, and I truly feel for those who have lost it all. However, it doesn't take long to level your character again. Especially with all the new weapons at your disposal and the ability to reset the gangs, it could easily be done. Just give it a couple hours and you're back to where you left off. The content is amazing and definitely not worth missing.

I've bought and downloaded the new content, but I haven't yet tried it with Crackdown. I'm waiting for a patch for the patch :)
I have 297 Agility orbs and 179 Hidden orbs; I can wait for Realtime Worlds to let me know my work is safe to continue on.

I downloaded the content and I love it. Crackdown's awesome and I love the nerd rage over a game. Get a grip, it's a game.

Don't worry, Realtime Worlds said on their site that, not only will you be able to get a patch, for 100 MS points you will be able to download some virtual diapers too.
