Feeling a little black today? EB Games has come to the rescue by offering a few black Xbox 360 accessories before the Elite makes its grand arrival next week. Right now, you can order a black Xbox 360 wireless controller, play and charge pack, or extra play and charge battery. The black versions all cost the same as their white counterparts and are ready to ship within 24 hours. As we always say, black is the new off white ... or something like that.

lol,
seriously, did NOTHING happen on the 22nd?
but i am happy to see the black accessories finally, for a while i was considering a chemical dye job.
Besides, my original controller is starting to show it's wear a bit... but that also means i would need to buy a black rechargeable battery pack.... oh well, i would for $50, but it quickly becomes $70 with the battery.

on second look you can buy the battery separately for only $12, but that still makes it a $62+tax=67ish investment.

Have you guys noticed there hardly IS any information given out on weekends? It's all usually on weekdays.
And if it bothers you that much, go get a piece of information yourself and send X3F a tip.

Sorry about the lack of updates guys. "Life" got a little busy on Sunday.

Can't expect you guys to work every day of the week.
But I'm kinda happy about this. I've wanted a controller for a while that I'd be able to tell the difference between the rest of them so I could have a personal controller no one else would use. Sorry that was a long sentance.

yeah, news is slow today. Nothing happened in the world of video games i guess. or people celebrated 4/20 one too many times this weekend.

This is cool news, seeing that white electronics are tremendous eyesores. Will the black casing at some point be available with the premium and core consoles? I'd rather not shall out all that money just for the black, and I want to avoid replacing the case altogether.

I saw at BB a controller, battery, and play and charge kit for $65, so there is that option. The handful of Targets and Wal-Marts I visited this weekend didn't break street date. :-(

What is this "Life" game that you speak of?
Anywho back on topic; I'm thinking of grabbing one of those controllers. I don't need anymore of the other accessories. =)

Oh, and by the way - I don't know the price, but Best Buy has the wireless controller WITH the black battery and black play'n'charge kit already bundled together. Saw some in the back room last week - they hadn't gotten their Elites in yet, but they had their accessories. (And they ARE authorized and allowed to sell the accessories now - just no consoles until the 29th.)

The Wal-Mart near my home in Jacksonville (FL) had the Elite in the glass case - I had the photo lady pull the Elite from the case and the SKU came up as "Do Not Sell". She tried three times and went on to call a Manager for a over-ride. The Manager got upset and pulled the (4) from the shelf - but he left the 120 gig HDD behind.
So is the date the 27th or the 29th? My Game has all their dates messed up.

@#9 I saw the same deal. Just yesterday I decided to get myself an Elite when they're released. I'm going to put my 360 on Ebay with a couple of games, one controller, and the play & charge kit. I'm hoping to get close to $400 for it with the games included. Does anyone know if the Elite will come with all the needed accessories to transfer data from my current 20GB Hard Drive to the 120? Or does that only come when you buy the Hard Drive seperately?

Yeah, I've been able to buy these for at least 3 or 4 days now, at Wal-Mart. Prices for the Controller w/o play'n charge is $49.99 and the controller w/ play'n charge is $64.99.

It's not just EB. This weekend I took some time to look for either an Elite or 120 gig hdd as I can usually find products that have their street date broken. Toys R Us was selling a black controller and Circuit City had the black play and charge kit.
