Video: Command and Conquer 3 Vision gameplay
Not long ago, it was revealed that Command & Conquer 3 would feature Vision camera support on the Xbox 360. It was previously believed that players would only be able to see each other before and after a match, but this video shows video chat windows during the match as well. All in all, the video reveals two things. One, Vision cam support is perfect for a game like Command & Conquer. Two, this may be the most annoying feature ever conceived. The video goes out of its way to show us how annoying this feature could be, and we're not exactly sure that's good marketing strategy, but the feature is at least promising.
Also, the video features actual 360 footage, giving us a look at the 360 control interface. It looks essentially like Battle for Middle Earth II, which we were expecting. It does, however, look much faster than BFMEII, which is definitely welcome.
For now, C&C3 for the 360 is saddled with a nebulous spring 2007 release date. Anyone plan on picking it up? Watch the video and tell us what you think (you can also grab the HD version here).

GG. The feature is great, but the people using it are not so much...

You're absolutely right. This video shows exactly how annoying having in-game video chat would be. Or maybe game developers are dorks. I simply couldn't play a game that way. The headset is enough for me, and even that can become annoying when there are those who just don't shutup.

Nice feature and gorgeous looking game. Just hope it offers a little more than the typical tank rush extravaganza.

I don't see that to be very annoying. That is just good natured taunting. It's nothing like in Halo2 where you have a mandatory wait/watch session while the 9-year old voice on the other end humps your dead body yelling "No Scope!! PWNED!!!!!"

Haha, what an awesome feature :D
For those who are concerned about it being abused, I'm sure there'll be an option to disable it, maybe even when you're setting the game up. And it'll probably be pretty rare to find a whole room full of people who all have a camera (not like Uno, where the game shipped with the camera anyway, so loads of players have it).
And if you don't want to be taunted by the victor at the end... don't lose ;)
For me, the only question is whether I can stand the two-month wait between the PC release and the 360 release - I've just bought C&C Decades (compilation of all the previous C&C games) to see me through.

LOL! That shit at the end was funny. "Loser, Loser, and Loser" as he points. Hilarious.

That looks like a serious bandwidth hog to me, I'd definitely disable the camera for that reason alone. Which is a shame cos...well actually its not it looked damn annoying
