Cooler King add-on does it all

Okay, to be honest we're not big fans of that Nyko Cooler device, so when news of the Cooler King came across our news desk we were a little bored by the whole idea. But then we realized that the Cooler King does much more than its Nyko cousin, much more. Not only does it have a fan to unnecessarily remove built up heat in your 360, but it also has a bunch of video and audio inputs. Since it plugs directly into the special 360 video plug, you can now use any standard composite, component, s-video, vga or optical audio plug. And as a bonus gift they throw in four extra USB 2.0 ports on the device. You can buy it from UK Play.com for the low price of £17.99.

[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

1. nice, could always use extra USB ports, but hopefully the quality of the product is good overall.

2. yea I have a few questions

1.) Does this work on American/NTSC 360s?
2.) How do you switch between the video ports? Because sometimes I use VGA, and sometimes I use the RCA plugs, right now I just unplug the video slot and plug the other one in, but it'd be nice to just change a switch (or does this display it in 2 different places at once? that'd be pretty cool as well)

3. Yep, had this for ages, far quieter than the Nykko product and allows me to use my standard VGA cable than the expensive offical one.

It should work on NTSC machines, and yes you can plug in all the connections at once. there's two switches on the back that seems to switch between video output and use of the ethernet/usb ports.

4. I bought the Nyco Cooler when it first came out, we can all agree that it sucks big time. I'm not sure if this so called Cooler King is going to be much better. Does anyone recommend another type of cooler for the Xbox 360?

Posted at 2:32PM on Jan 28th 2007 by Kevin

5. uh how does this work exactly? it goes over most the back of the 360 except doesnt go into the power. sooooo how do the fans get power?

Posted at 3:14PM on Jan 28th 2007 by jdub

6. i would guess that it's powered from the USB port on the back, or powered seperately

Posted at 3:20PM on Jan 28th 2007 by Mr Adidas

7. its powered through the a/v somehow

10. I guess if you have a wireless adaptor then you can't use this right?

11. Question: Since when was $35 USD a "low price?"

Posted at 4:35AM on Jan 29th 2007 by Ken Edwards

12. To Ken:
$35 is a small amount if it keeps your 360 from frying.

Posted at 8:28AM on Jan 29th 2007 by hmd13

13. @ 11....$35 has been a small price since I got my 1st job over 10 years ago.
