It's still great news for 360 owners, who won't have to wait an extra 12 months to run over high-polygon hookers. Conversely, it's a potentially signifcant blow to the golden kneecaps of the pricey PS3. Loyal Sony fanboys who go into usurious debt in order to purchase that caviar console would presumably prefer a little alone time with those dead prostitutes, at least until they get their credit card paid off. IV is Roman numerals for 3.
GTA 1 & 2 were 2D DOS games,
GTA3 was the New York one,
GTA4 was Vice City,
GTA5 SA
so next one should be GTA6 (VI in Roman numerals)

as
GTA3 is to GTA VC
VC and SA are just reusing the GTA3 stuff. 4 is a whole new thing. Think of VC/SA as expansion packs to 3.

wow you are such a jackass, I dont kow if you remember but Vice city and San andreas were never called GTA4+5 they were just spinoffs from GTA3 that used the same engine such as GTA: London. As this is next gen and named GTA4 it means its going to be a revamped engine. Dont quit your day job.

I can't believe no one else picked up on that, the roman number for 3 is III, IV is four. Signifying that GTA3, VC, and SA were all of the GTA3 era, and this new game, GTA4 is going to be new (engine wise at least)

Anyway, I think it's great! Sony just lost their golden goose! I'm not the hugest fan of the series...all right, I'll admit. I do get some sick pleasure out of these games, they are a ton of fun. I'm looking forward to this one.
I still find it pretty hard believe Sony has shot themselves in the foot so badly, with the prcing and all the lies, lies, lies.

The game may be released simultaneously...but the PS3 won't be out for 2 whole weeks after the games release. So 360 owners will get to play the title 2 weeks Before PS3 Owners.

A lot of rumors have come and gone that the 360 was going to get exclusive rights to the next GTA and while I took those with a grain of salt, it's nice to see the GTA series is finally on a level playing field. Waiting 6 to 12 months to play the latest GTA ranked highly on the xbox suck-o-meter.
