Here's the Halo 3 trailer again, embedded for your puny viewing pleasure. If you want more pixels and have no luck with XBLM, try Xboxyde's 720p torrent or Bungie's large Quicktime version. Oh yeah, Bungie reminds the world this baby is real time with an appropriately sarcastic announcement:
Nobody saw it coming. Halo 3! Who knew? For the last year or two, people have speculated about what our next project was and surprisingly, in all that time, not a single person guessed that it would be Halo 3. Not one.
We declare it the best kept secret ever.
...We won't ruin the content of our short presentation by describing it frame by frame, but we will note that everything you're seeing here is being rendered in real-time on the Xbox 360, using the current version of our Halo 3 game engine. The HDR lighting, self-shadowing, GPU-run particle system and many other effects should make it intact (and more) to our final game.Worth repeat viewing.

I still find it disappointing that no gameplay was shown. Not that I particularly care how shiny master chief is during actual gameplay, but because we still don't know if this is going to be another FPS, or MMOFPS or even some other crazy acronym noone came up with yet. I know the weekly update said that some levels are getting to be very playable and pretty, so they the game's plot and gameplay style should all be planned out now.

^ Go check bungie.net, they've announced its a First Person Shooter for Xbox 360 coming in 2007.
Seriously, this is just a teaser, they do it with almost every single game thats released, soon we'll hopefully see a gameplay video (like the amazing 2003 e3 Halo 2 video). But for a teaser, it teased me well! It looked amazing.

Nope, as long asthey have fanboys like us. Besides, they must do a Prequal Trilogy - it is a must these days..

according to the bungie site, this will be the end of the halo trilogy, but bungie will make more stuff. I think that it is too early to really talk about it, but halo 4 might be a little stale (cough MGS cough)

It should be the end of the Halo Trilogy, but that doesn't mean the end of the Halo universe. I'd like to see them remake Marathon, which is set in the same universe.
I'd like to know what they will do after Halo 3.

I think the trailer is just fine. Makes me glad I bought the console. The game is still a year away and will look great by then. Master Chief rules!

I have yet to see anyone else mention the fact that the chief has an old assult rifle from the original Halo and is wearing the old armor, or a slightly different variation of it.
I'll let that one settle for a while before I talk about it further.
Indeed interesting,

Anticrawl: That is not his old armor, but that is definitely an assault rifle. I noticed the first time I watched trailer and nearly hyperventilated when I did.
Sense: Bungie has stated several times that Marathon and Halo are set in 2 different universes despite their numerous similarities. Although a lot of the similarities seem to be more than coincedental.
