NBA 2K6 update fouls out

2K Sports continues to test  their bugged-out games the way Shaq shoots free throws, which is to say poorly. Reader Trevor complains:

I loaded up NBA 2K6 for the 360 earlier this week and it prompted me for a forced update. After the update I played a game and the crib points (rewards for in game acheivements to buy in game stuff) were totally messed up. For example, I got one rebound and got the 10 rebound reward, I scored 10 points and I got the 100 point reward, made 2 free throws and I got the 15 free throw award etc.....

Obviously the patch screwed up the stat recording by a factor of 10. Dozens of people have been complaining on the 2k forums The question is why wasn't this caught. It's blatently obvious in the first 10 seconds of playing the game. No testing what so ever.

A road trip to the forums finds plenty of complaints and no answers. How many fouls does 2K get before people just stop buying their products?

That now makes it 3 out of 4 for 2K Sports with their 2K6 product line on the 360.

NHL and MLB are suffering from freezing problems, and now this with NBA.

Only College Hoops 2K6 seems to be free of serious bugs at this point. Oops, spoke too soon. A quick look at the forums reveals it, also, is suffering from freezing problems.

Great stuff!

EA games are not having the problems that the 2k games are. But, the gameplay is much better in the 2k games, except for baseball. Even the 2k football was better than madden.

I had this happen to me. What was great was if I had a good game scoring-wise you get gamer achievement pts (something like 700). It nearly doubled my gamerscore. It is BS that these 2K games continue to have these issues.

I?ve never had a prob with baseball even before the patch. Baseball is getting a bum rap. It's actually not that bad when you look passed the sub par graphics. I myself I look for game play first and the 2k6 plays pretty good. Once you get used to the hit stick you won't want to play any other way. The hit stick really makes it a baseball sim and you have to get your hitting motion right. All I can say is RTFM and learn what can be done in the game before judging it.

Unless 2k does something drastic, I'm pretty much done with them. Gameplay has held them above EA for the last few seasons in spite of the lousy testing, but enough is enough.

Well guys, since there has been no new posts I'm assuming because of E3 and such... I'd like to point out that 'Test Drive Unlimited' Demo is available for download right now as well as the demo I have been waiting for LOST PLANET DEMO. Plus free adidas and xmen gamerpics and an abundance of e3 trailers. Enjoy, have a good week guys! ^___^

I love how E3 is in full swing and you guys still have a post from Saturday up as the newest story.

This is what, like the biggest week of news for XBOX 360 for 2006 and you guys are "too busy with your day jobs" I assume.

I mean, the whole HD-DVD drive info & MS Portable Spin Off News have gone by the wayside...and that's just this morning.
