Given Microsoft's stated plan to promote their E3 bling on Xbox Live, is it safe to say the next-gen version of Master Chief will be gracing our HD displays in just over a week?
[Thanks SickNic]
2. If they're looking at a launch around the time of the movie, which to my knowledge is tentatively March-ish 2007, E3 this year is when they'd have to show off at least some teaser material. Then there would be playable content for GDC or CES next year, with the launch following up later.
Of course if the movie, the game, or both are pushed back they may not have playable demos until E3 next year. But according to this week's update on Bungie he talked about their next project getting very pretty and fully playable.
So it sounds to me like they're preparing at least something for E3 this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a closed door playable demo this year with a big huge NDA so noone can talk about it.

4. The fact that we're only in store for about 2 minutes worth of Halo-y goodness is a bit sad. I was hoping for more. But at least we get something. I'd have to imagine that the video would end up on Live within days, if not the same day. May 9th suddenly seems so far away.

1. IGN doesn't have the power to confirm anything Halo related.
This week's Bungie update says as much.
