Amped 3 demo draws low wattage

What happens when you finally release a demo of a mediocre launch title on Xbox Live Marketplace several months down the road? Not much.

Well said. Should have been out 5 months ago.

Downloading now and fully prepared to be underwhelmed. Cynacism aside, where the heck did this come from? Aren't demos usually on wednesday...and for that matter..why not something a little more recent?

I guess better late than never though. The more demos the better.

If it's anything like the last one, or better in terms of fun and variety then I'll enjoy it. Amped 2 was the only game I had for a while (came with the super mega awesome limited edition Mountain Dew Xbox) so I pretty much played the hell out of it. I didn't think I would like it, but it turned out to be pretty cool. I'm kinda glad they put this up there for those who don't have access to a rental store that carries the game and the only other option is to just buy it.

So yeah, to some people it's good they finally put it up and if I like it I'll get it.

As stated previosuly though, it's a little late right? I've seen Amped 3 at some stores for $29 new and then as low as $20 used.... so that's gotta be saying something...

Amped 3 is an excellent game! OK so it didn't sell much but it was still a good game, one of the funniest ones I've played in ages.

Amped 3 is a great game. The Amped-series has always been a snowboard game for snowboarders. So expect a bit more realism than in the SSX-games. The controls are a bit different than in Amped 1 and 2, and takes some getting used to - but other than that; GREAT game! I won't hear anything else.

How is this late? There are still millions of people that still haven't got their Xbox 360 yet. So this is NEW to them.

Amped is far better than PDZ and Kameo. Considering the number of demos recently, I don't see any reason to complain about more free content.

Precisely. I only got my 360 2 weeks ago, so I was happy to see the download.

Mediocre? Nooooo way, I rented this game and had fun every minute I played! The story was so stupid that you could not not love this game! And getting all of the achievements for it are really a challenge.

BUT, this demo was released waaaaaaaay too late, it should have been out there the week after the launch. Not 5 months down the road. I would have downloaded it if it were around the time it was released.

In my opinion, this is one of the most fun launch titles for the 360. The gameplay is great, and the story is just insane! I enjoyed every minute I spent playing it. This is definitely the most under rated 360 title out right now. Get the demo, you should love it!

Amped 3 is not Amped 2. The game has lost a lot of the realism that drew people to Amped 2. It's more like SSX than Amped 2.

That being said, I kinda enjoyed Amped 3. It isn't a great game, but it was fun. I really liked coming down the big mountains from all the way from the top.

not a fan. i'll be playing through on my roommates copy, but its no amped2, which is the greatest most realistic snowboarding game there is.

A real shame the franchise was sold off, you can tell by the SSX Fakey styles and arcade style controls. I want my amped 2.5!

I can see being a bit mad if you've had the 360 for a while, and wanted to try it out. Just getting mine recently, the more selection the better I say. Not the biggest fan of the game, but hopefully demos will come out much sooner than 5 months after release from now on.

Funny how I just sent this back to Gamefly. Not because I didn't like it though, just because I "finished" it. I thought the Robot-chicken-esque randomness of the cutscenes/story was hilarious and bizarre and the gameplay was pretty good.

I've never played a snowboarding game before so I can't contrast or compare, however, as an entry into the snowboarding genre it was pretty fun, easy to pick up but took some time to master and gave me around 22 hours gaming goodness from beginning to end (i.e. to get 1000/1000 gamerscore).

I don't think it's better than PDZ or Kameo (as stated above) though. The depth of Kameo (and now the live co-op) and the multiplayer of PDZ will keep me returning to those games.

Anyone think that maybe they didn't release the demo because they thought it might scare away some initial "I need another game for my 360" sales during the game drought and now they are desperate to drum up more business?

And who didn't like the rips into Electronic Arts...er...Colonotronic Arts and their Roster Update...er...Emag Live game? A FPS, Snowboarding, Basketball, Platforming, Football mashup? Genius.

The game looks good to me. Now I'll be able to find out what its really like as soon as I get my 4th Xbox replacement back...

Metacritic.com gave it 72 out of 100. This is one of those love it or hate it things. Some people hate it, some people love it. Some say its really unrealistic, some say the controls are awkward, some say its over the top, weird and crazy but then others say its lots of fun, easy to play, lots to do, good graphics and very funny and enjoyable.

Can't wait to try it out!
