Delays galore! Dead Rising, Top Spin 2, Lost Odyssey

Sorry for being the bearer of bad news, but Frame City Killer wasn't the only game to get delayed this week.
  • Originally supposed to launch at the end of January, Capcom's Dead Rising has been pushed back to May 2. Joystiq's hands-on with the title at CES left us thinking the title needed a little more work.
  • 2K Sports tennis-sim Top Spin 2 has been pushed back until April.
  • Hironobu Sakaguchi's much anticipated RPG Lost Odyssey has not so much been pushed back, as its release date is just unknown. Using the often inaccurate sales data gleaned from Internet retailers, IGN extracted that the release date has been pushed back.
This Spring will have plenty of great titles being released for the 360; unfortunately, the period between now and then may prove pretty dry. Another round of Geometry Wars anyone?

1. bummer. oh well. at least we have plenty of good games to last us until then.

2. wow this sucks... I mean it's bad enough waiting for the real hot titles to drop like gears of war and FarCry but to now have to wait for just ok titles is just sad....

Well back to my PC as my X360 begins to collect dust.

3. I feel that all the push backs is not necassarily a bad thing. It gives everyone a chance to enjoy all the release games out right now. For example, Condemned, is a very fun game. However, I was hoping to play Test Drive Unlimited soon, but you win some, you lose some...........

4. I guess the reason they chose the name Xbox 360,was because the 360 meant the number of days it would take before a game gets released. I'm all for quality, but the number of delays are getting to be annoying.

5. Yeah. Fuck Quality! Release unfinished games now!

8. Actually, Dead Rising has been listed as a May 2006 release on Capcoms website for a long time. I was surprised to hear that anyone was saying January lately (CES etc) as that was the first I had heard about it.

I'm still looking forward to it a lot. Although it doesnt really look next-gen graphics wise, the sheer number of zombies on screen make it interesting enough to me so far. I'd love to try a demo of it either way.

9. Well, if they add some good stuff to the live arcade this may not be such a big deal. I love the arcade, but am dissapointed in the titles they have for it at this time, but it has amazing potential. So maybe they will release some cool stuff for the arcade to hold us over.

10. I'd rather them delay then produce a good game. Of course, a delay doens't guarantee the game will be good (look at PDZ), but still..

I have five games (all gotten at discounts through MS and EA employees, muahaha) and I have barely scratched the surface on a number of them, let alone the games I have checked out from Gamefly. So I'll be quite content for a while.
