It won't stream video, but TwonkyVision's UPnP
MediaServer software will stream music and photos to the Xbox 360 from a variety of platforms, including Linux and Mac
OS X. This is great news for users of alternative computing platforms who have thus far been unable to duplicate the
functionality of even an iPod or PSP on their 360. TwonkyVision lists the 360 under supported "Media Players" writing "Microsoft only
allows to stream music and pictures. Microsoft neither allows video streaming from Windows Media
Connect Servers nor from 3rd party UPnP servers." So there you have it. Anyone have any luck with
this software and their 360?[Thanks, Clint Thompson]

Could someone tell me WHAT will stream video? I find it mildly annoying that when I connected my WinXP Dell Laptop last night I could only stream music and photos.
Is streaming videos exclusive to people with one of those snazzy (NOT) Windows Media Center PCs?

I was able to set up all of my Macs with the TwonkyMedia server software. It's not the most intuitive thing ever, but it works after you massage it a bit. There are some good threads in the Twonky forums to help out other lost Mac users.

trial worked for me on PowerBook G4. install package, restart at prompt, everything is a go—works off of port 9000. xbox->media>music/pictures/video (i only tried music, the rest should work), automatically picks up server running off of mac. +++ i might even buy it ;)
