The one thing about the Xbox 360 that has met with almost unanimous praise is the new wireless controller.
In a lengthy review of the all-white wonder, the good folks over at TeamXbox continue that trend by awarding it a near-perfect 9 (out of 10).
"The wireless performance is mind blowing and the controller is so easy to use. The battery life is short, but it is a price we are more than willing to pay for such excellent performance and feature set."

Does anyone else find that the new 360 controller makes your hands all sweaty? I can play my original Xbox for hours and not have it happen, but within 5 minutes of picking up the 360 wireless controller my hands are all gross. I think this might be attributed to the extra heat from the batteries and other components, ie. the motors.

Love the controller, have been playing non-stop since Tuesday with the same batteries. My brother has been playing when I'm not with the same controller too. So, those batteries are kicking well. Got the plug & charge kit to use next when they do die. Picked up another wireless controller with the battery pack. Love the controller. My brother is a PS2 fanboy and he can't stop playing with my xbox 360. My wife and I just laugh. His PS2 is sitting in his room with NFSMW he got last week!

Doesn't make my hands sweaty. Best controller ever. Much easier to bundle up with a blanket too, when you don't have to worry about a wire.
If anything, there would be much less heat generated by the controller, considering it should use less energy than the original controllers which had a dedicated and inexhaustible power sourse. I'm sure they tried to make these more efficient.

Tim, while that almost makes sense... it is not entirely true. Adding somthing like simple wireless to the controller adds alot more electronics, not to mention battery (monitoring and recharging circuits included).
The actual process of changing a wired segnal to wireless can alone add alot of heat (pre-amps, converters, post-amps...) add to that the charging battery... hot.

heistgonewrong, everything brand new makes my hands all sweaty. I think it's just a reflex I get from holding such a perfect piece of gaming goodness ;) Maybe once the 'new' wears off, our pores will return to their less-nervous state.
hopefully

I never realized how cool wirelless controllers can be. The console doesn't ugly up my living room now with 9ft cables. Definately the best controller I've ever used. Great how the Xbox Live headset plugs into it as well and works wirelessly. Battery just keeps on ticking as well. I've been using this thing like crazy since launch day and it's still going fine with original batteries.
