Free Xbox Live Alternative supports 360

X-Link KaiAfter buying a 360 you may be kinda reluctant to shell out your hard earned cash on that Xbox Live Gold account. Don't sweat it, there's a free alternative besides the Silver option. XLink Kai is a good looking client that finds games around the world and allows gamers to do what they do best. It currently works with all the major consoles and has just announced its support for the Xbox 360.

You’re probably asking yourself how in the world it’s supposed to work. It's a tunneling application, using your Mac or PC to connect your 360 to the internet and get you gaming with other fanatics, whether it be down the street or in another country. And let's not forget chatting, voice communications, private play, and Arena gaming hubs. Using an XTag (not to be confused with a GamerTag), all you need is a PC or Mac, a console, and the client. Did we mention it's also free?

[UPDATE: This alternative service is only compatible with titles that support the SystemLink/LAN function.  Luckily XLink Kai has confirmed that PDZ does work, as does Halo 2.  Come on, it's free! Thanks, firerock.]
